8.0Very good remote resort and beautiful setting. The staff (Saw, Mike and Shishir) were incredible and made the whole experience wonderful. Overall a good experience if you want to take a break away from the city.
− Check which rooms you book. Rooms 1,2 and 3 are not very private and are visible from the common areas. This can be fixed by the hotel quite easily with curtains and fencing etc. No wellness activity for what is actually a wellness hotel - yoga classes or group hikes would be good addition. They have spa massage which was average. Restaurants need to have more variety - we stayed for a whole week there so by the end of the week we had eaten everything on the menu.

10.0Service was impeccable. Staff was super attentive to our needs, generous, polite, friendly. Food was equally excellent - something that surprised me because hotel food arent usually as good as this. Kudos to the chefs and F&B team. The environment was so peaceful & tranquil. Beautiful sandy beach. Rooms are large and spacious, full of character. Housekeeping team did a wonderful job of cleaning the rooms so very often and making sure they were always sparkling clean.
− Room lighting quite dim. The resort also switches all lights after 10pm. This can be problematic when walking back to our rooms located high up the hills. We had to walk up the many wooden steps in the dark before reaching rooms. The resort had only 1 kayak for 1 person

− L'hôtel a été racheté, des travaux partout, toute la journée, un tiers de l'hôtel inaccessible du fait des travaux. Aucune remise en question de la part du staff, entre 400€ et 500€, une honte.

9.0Being on the quiet coral beach.
− 1st time ever we are charged Boat transfer to hotel. We paid 240 RM instead of 80 return by public taxi.
Sustainability Tax (Cukai Kelestarian) by the Pahang State Government from 1 February 2022, all guests will be subjected to a mandatory Sustainability Tax of RM 3.00 per room per night and only applicable for all types of accommodation rooms for hotel visitors throughout the State of Pahang. These amounts will be collected upon checkout by the hotel, on behalf of the Federal Government.
Due to the remote location of Japamala and occasional adverse weather conditions, WiFi and Internet connectivity service disruption is plausible. There is no mobile reception or coverage at the resort
All of our rooms are built based on Samadhi’s philosophy of preserving the sanctity of its natural surroundings. Most of the room has different layout and design. For any specific request related to room layout such as will be strongly subject to availability upon arrival. Nevertheless, Japamala Resort will be striving to ensure the best stay experience for all guests.
From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted.
Please be informed that the villa does not accept third party credit card payments. You will be required to kindly present a photo identification and the same credit card used to guarantee your booking when checking in or making payment at the hotel. In the event that you do not have the credit card used to make the booking, you will be required to make full payment on the credit card that you have in your possession. Charges on the previous credit card will be refunded within 14 working days.
