Removal from my room mid stay.

One star — my room was reassigned while I was still an active guest. I booked a three-night stay at the Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel, checking in Sunday and scheduled to check out Wednesday. I arrived in good health. During the middle of my second night, however, I began developing congestion in my throat. By the following day—the same day this room incident occurred—I had developed a severe headache that persisted throughout the day. On Tuesday evening, I briefly returned to Room 319 at approximately 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. When I returned again around 7:30 p.m., my room key no longer worked. I then discovered that the hotel had reassigned my room to someone else even though my reservation had not ended. I went downstairs and spoke with Jank at the front desk. She told me that I would be moved to another room and asked whether I would accept a room with two beds. I agreed, provided that the hotel could also assist me with headache medicine because I was already feeling sick and dealing with a significant headache. After I accepted the replacement room, I continued asking about the medication and was ultimately told that the hotel could not provide it. I understand that the hotel may have policies concerning the distribution of medicine, but that did not make the situation any less frustrating. I was already feeling unwell, and I was simultaneously dealing with the stress of discovering that my room access had been terminated and my room had been given to another guest. The central issue is not the medication. The central issue is that, during an active reservation, my key was deactivated, my room was reassigned, and I was displaced from the room I had paid for before my scheduled checkout date. This raised serious concerns regarding guest privacy, security, room-control procedures, and the handling of personal belongings. The front desk’s response did not reflect the seriousness of what had occurred. Being moved to another room did not adequately address how or why an occupied room was reassigned in the first place. This was an unacceptable experience and is the reason for my one-star rating.

Disappointed. Spent over thousand dollars for 4 nights. Bed pillows awful. Ice machine empty. Unresponsive staff.

Location

− Not a good value. Costs out of line with a better quality hotel I stayed at the week prior in same area. Bed pillows were awful for four night stay. After three trips to front desk to try to get different pillows I finally bought two at local store. Tried to ask house keepers directly for bed pillows but none spoke English. Very low water pressure in shower.

Writing this a little late but, I had to make sure I got this out before I forget. I need to shout out the front desk attendant Liz. Before I arrived I was so lost and had a ton of questions and Liz stayed on the phone with me the entire time and answered every single one. she even let me go on a little spill before we ended the call. To my surprise, when it was time for me to check in, she was the one who tended to me and my family. even with all my questions she never made it seem like I was a burden. I didn't get a chance to say thank you before leaving because I didn't see her upon check-out but I had to write this as my way of saying thank you and hopefully we will be able to return!

Two exceptional service interactions.

We had 2 exceptional interactions with hotel staff. Henry made us feel welcome at the bar and seemed to take a genuine interest in everyone in the restaurant. He even coordinated a singing of happy birthday for another guest. The 2nd exceptional service came from the front desk. The complimentary clothes dryer was broken, so we were about to head out to a local laundromat but the front desk offered to run our clothes through their in house dryer. We went to grab dinner and had it ready for us as we walked in. He even folded the clothes.
