It remains one of the very few islands with an authentic Maldives style, without that useless luxury and artificial island feel. The only shame is the excessive presence of seaweed, probably due to a mismanagement of surfactants over the years and the proximity of an island—actually, two local islands—which have definitely destroyed the natural marine environment. Granted, if the daily cleaning of the seaweed were also accompanied by collecting plastic bottles, shoes, and other items that wash ashore every day... they probably wouldn't keep getting them back every single time during a 10-day stay, because they either throw them back into the sea or the sea itself takes them back.

− it would take is proper management and the ability to spot the little flaws. I will only report the ones that affected my room. First, the water heater wasn't working—I wonder how you can not notice that. The air conditioning wasn't working either; it was completely out of gas. They made a first attempt to fix the AC, but nothing changed, so I lost my patience and said that either they refill the gas or it's absolutely impossible to stay in there. They came back, cleaned the compressor, put in new gas, and finally, the air conditioning worked... for about an hour. Same thing with the water heater: they came twice, didn't solve the problem, and two days went by before they realized that the control board of the heat exchanger was fried. Is it possible that the numerous plastic bottles and everything else made of plastic on the beach is completely ignored by the cleaning staff? This happens because they were ordered to only clean the seaweed and bury it, not understanding that the plastic on the shoreline—a lot of it, an average of 3 or 4 bottles every 10 meters—is not taken into consideration by the staff in any way.

A wonderful stay

Our beach villa was clean, comfortable and charming, and overall we had a really great time. The resort offers plenty of activities like snorkeling, shark & dolphin watching, beach dinner, and a lovely oceanfront pool. The villa itself was beautiful — private, well-appointed, and just steps from the water. A huge thank you to Nooman, who took us snorkeling multiple times (absolute trip highlight!), our personal waiter Nowfil, Alamin and the housekeeping team, the pool guys, and a warm Bonjour! to the chef – the food was excellent every day, with a buffet so rich and varied that the only problem was choosing what to eat! Thank you!

− In front of the villas there's a beautiful strip of fine white sand, but just a couple of meters in the seabed becomes densely covered in seagrass. The water is clean, but walking through it is not for everyone. This may simply be a natural feature of the Maldives — I honestly don't know if it's the same on every island. Luckily, there are better spots, for example near the Spa: pristine white sand, no seagrass, a swing in the water and a cute bar-style table with chairs. The water there is crystalline and very shallow for quite a stretch.

L’hôtel est beau mais le personnel n’est pas agréable

− L’établissement était bien dans l’ensemble mais le personnel de l’hôtel est très désagréable , il n’y a que les cuisiniers et les serveurs qui sont super sympas. Nous nous sommes baignés dans la mer à côté d’un bateau et un tuyau pendant une semaine l’eau sentait la merde et quand je demandais au personnel ce que c’était on ne me répondait pas.. j’ai compris plus tard que c’était pour nettoyer les toilettes .. nous avons demandé une compensation pour ça et nous n’avons même pas eu un jus de fruit offert.

Enjoyed: - thank you to the reception team for organising the seaplane return flight to Male - the quite location of the room - the natural beauty of the area - the fish feeding - very relaxing and made more enjoyable by the helpful staff on the resort

− Disliked: - having to wait 4.5hrs for transfer to the island, then being asked to spend $50 on a ride into town with a sandwich meal included to shop and enjoy the beach - this was a complete waste of money because all the shops were unsuitable and closed and the meal was not enjoyable with stale bread. - the 2.5hr speedboat journey to the island and arriving there in pitch darkness - examples: the rooms were in disrepair with some of the wardrobes and cupboards not closing correctly etc and curtains had food marks on from previous visitors - the food options were basic for vegetarians
