Great hotel
10.0I stayed at the Marriott for a few days and had previously stayed at other hotel chains. I already knew that, since I was in China, communication might be more challenging. However, I encountered a somewhat concerning situation: very few staff members spoke English. This was not a major issue at the front desk, but during breakfast and other meals at the hotel, communication was quite difficult. At times, even simple requests, such as asking for salt, were not understood. I do not believe this is the employees’ fault, but rather the hotel’s responsibility. In my opinion, the company should invest more in staff training. It is not reasonable to expect employees, who may not earn high salaries, to pay for learning another language on their own. Offering complimentary English classes to staff would make a significant difference in the experience of international guests. Despite the language barrier, the staff were always polite and willing to help, and I was able to receive assistance every day, even if it sometimes required extra effort. The buffet is good, although on a few occasions I felt that some of the food had been reheated or had been sitting out for too long. In addition, the meat station was often confusing, and some of the dishes I ordered arrived incorrectly. On the positive side, the room is excellent, and the overall service is very good. With greater investment in English training for its staff, I believe Marriott could provide an even more complete experience that better reflects the high international standards of the brand.
