La proximidad a la playa, el buffet variado y bastante bueno. Las habitaciónes amplías y camas con colchones firmes.

− Tuve que decir un día que no habían hecho las habitaciónes de mi familia y la mía, y al subir de comer estaban echas las camas, pero los baños no lo tocaron

Only Positive Point is the location, you just cross the road and you’re at the beach or the seafront promenade. CONCLUSION: Blaumar is by far the worst 4-star hotel we have ever stayed at

− First disappointment: Thank you, ‘Carina’ – I hope you’ll at least be rewarded by management for assigning that terribly smelly room to a guest. At check-in, there was a rather cheeky attempt to cheat us. We’d booked two Standard Suites but were only given one; the other room was a small Standard room with a strong smell of cigarettes. When I returned to reception, the ladie´s expressions immediately gave away that the attempt hadn’t worked. Second disappointment: The ‘friendly’ lady tried to convince me that all the suites were booked, but in the end she offered me a suite number 2204. I accepted it with great pleasure and, at any rate, thanked her very politely. Throughout the night, there was such a foul smell in the suite that I was forced to leave the balcony door open all night. (Choosing between sleeping with an unbearable stench or with mosquitoes and traffic noise. That really was a fitting punishment after my complaint). Neighbours in the other rooms on the same floor (2nd floor) confirmed to us that the smell was unbearable in their rooms too. The hotel has simply lost all credibility in my eyes; you pay over 3,000 euros for six nights and you’re treated so badly. I had, and still have, the option to complain by Booking, but I decided to focus on my holiday with my family. We’ll simply be giving the hotel a very poor rating on Booking, Google and other booking platforms and we hope this serves as a useful lesson for anyone thinking of booking at this hotel. FOOD/DRINKS: Unfortunately, we’d booked breakfast and dinner. Whilst there was a choice, the quality was by no means what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. 80 per cent of the buffet consists of pork. You can tell straight away that they’re cutting corners on every little detail. Anyone who describes the quality of the food as good has clearly not yet had the chance to experience other 4-star hotel chains. Wi-Fi/Internet: connection is not at all reliable in the room

A superbly located hotel, very clean - all in all a very good choice

- located as close to the beach as you can expect and in the most beautiful area of Salou - very good pool, generally big enough to accommodate all (less so during weekends) - spacious rooms (“suites”) although they should not be advertised as suites since they are simply bigger bedrooms - very nice and professional staff - excellent entertainment, with professional and very talented local artists (however late hours..) - very clean hotel, and a very reasonable timetable for the daily cleaning- which was fast and rigorous, too (exceptional!)

− - very weak wifi signal in the room - practically unusable: a service not worthy of this hotel - buffet meals: 1. extremely crowded at meal times- during our last three days of our stay there were immense lanes at the entry to the breakfast buffet during the final slot (9:30-10:30) - as well as at the start of the dinner (at 19:30! which is already very late for the many families with kids residing in countries with a very different culture /meal timetable). Clearly the hotel is underequipped for this demand. Shifting dinner to an earlier time (as of 18:30) would help! 2. very long lines to all four coffee machines - which are very slow too- would strongly recommend replacing with others more suitable for this kind of traffic… 3. very few options for kids in the buffets - poorly equipped children’s games area
