Hidden Gem on Mud Island
10.0I was so glad to find this charming little hotel right on Mud Island! Don't stay in downtown Memphis when you can experience the tranquility and beauty of Harbor Town. This hotel is safe, immaculately clean, and has several restaurants to chose from. The desk clerk was friendly and there's plenty of free parking. I will be staying here again. Highly recommended!
Great place
10.0I stay at the River Inn frequently. I love this place. They know me and treat me like family. The beds are very comfortable and the location is very safe. They are conveniently located to several dining places with in walking distance. Can’t go wrong with this hotel.
Lovely views and convenient to downtown
10.0Charming hotel with stunning river views, a cozy bed, and warm, welcoming staff. Paulette's restaurant has been a personal favorite for over 40 years, and there's also a great spot on-site for a relaxed dinner or breakfast.
− Very minor issues: The toilet was too low to the ground. There weren't any tissues in the room. The reading area outside the elevator on the 3rd floor was not adequately air-conditioned.
Lovely Inn by the Mississippi
10.0This is a serene boutique inn overlooking the Mississippi from within a lovely upscale neighbourhood. Tug is a place to relax with a nice, casual menu and cocktails.Paulette’s is upscale with a historic past. The Terrace combines views of the river with funky artwork and lovely appetizers to accompany drinks. But what really makes The River Inn special and welcoming is each and every member of the service team. John, Judy, and Skye.
I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a "special" stay - rooms are "tired".
5.0Good variety of breakfast items, nice location (beautiful river walks just right across the street of the hotel) and friendly staff. Restaurant, that's part of the hotel, served very tasty meals, we had their salad, salmon and roasted chicken, which were all delicious.
− Room was advertised with river view - and confirmed in an email with the manager. Our room, however, had a small corner window that overlooked a very messy rooftop and beyond, a sliver view of the river. You would have to stand in front of the window in the corner of the room to get a glimpse of the river.... We spoke to the very helpful person at the front desk who called the manager several times to discuss. The best they could do for us was upgrade us to a larger room at an additional $100 per night ($400 total). Even the upgraded room was not all that special. Very disappointed in the room/hotel and not at all what it was advertised to be. The hallways of the hotel looked like they had not been vacuumed for days. I mentioned it to the front desk, but nothing was done clean it up.
