Dreams Playa Bonita - excellent experience
10.0The Dreams team were amazing. We would like to give a special mention to Daniela and Ruben who make the best drinks, Laureana, Velkiz and our new amigo, Henry. They made our vacation extra special.
The resort was excellent, great people and very be pleasant vacation and we will return!!
10.0Angelo is a fantastic person and a benefit to your Resort. He was a great help to us in every way. I would highly recommend him as a Butler to all people coming here on vacation. I would highly recommend this resortt. Angelo was the best!!!
Great Place for a Relaxing Getaway
10.0The resort is exceptional. The food/drinks were high quality and the atmosphere is very laid back. I recommend getting the preferred package so you have access to the adults only pool and to the private lounge that overlooks the resort/ocean. Also, one pro-tip: Panama is in the tropics. Do yourself a favor and toss a can of OFF! into your bag. There are little insects that love to bite your legs; a good bug repellant keeps them at bay!
Overall experience at Dreams playa Bonita
8.0Pros: staff excellent from Manuel to Jean to Keila to everyone very friendly accommodating. Overall food for AI good. Pool clean. Panamazing tours awesome especially Miguel our driver when we took the pnanamacanal tour. Uber to casacasco restaurant in old town highly recommend. Beach was clean and nice high tide to low tide every 6 hours. Can walk the beach Cons: two restaurants that you can order from menu but suggest changing menu and putting outside days you are closed. Also maybe have two seatings as one night very crowdedtold to come back at 7:45 but didn’t sit until 8:30. Do not recommend upgrading to higher service coupons for resort credit and hard to use, only in $10 or $20 increments using one at a time. Bar upstairs is good but quiet it’s the only bar that has top shelf liquor which was the only perk. Hotel outside with chairs need updating and more lounge chairs. Cushions stained and have to wait usually till after 9 to get towels. Highly suggest bringing bug spray as mosquitos or “no sees” come out around 4-7 or so and can be brutal. Rooms good and spacious maid service was great. Buffets food good but pretty much same things. Hotel was not very good about letting you know the NY eve dinner but we ate at the restaurant Portofinothat night it was a buffet which we didn’t know but food very good especially the Paella but however the dinner at the party they wanted to charge $50/pp and was essentially the same food that was served upstairs for free. Overall would rate the hotel/food 7/10, staff 10/10
Worst Hyatt experience ever!
2.0I have been to many Dreams and Secrets resorts being a preferred member of UVC for almost 20 years. This has got to be the worst resort in the entire chain. The food was at best mediocre. The staff was not knowledgeable on events or facilities. I traveled with 5 family members and they located us on three different floors. Elevators did not function. The preferred lounge was understaffed and useless. The last straw was when they tried to charge me $50 per person to attend the New Years eve dinner. How Is THAT ALL INCLUSIVE. Never going to another UVC resort again.
Beautiful Setting, But Not the Experience We Hoped For
4.0We chose this resort for a very special trip: a retirement after 30 years as a first responder and our first Christmas spent abroad. Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay fell short. Despite emailing months in advance about my gluten allergy and hoping to arrange a small retirement surprise, we never received a response, and the requests were not acknowledged during check‑in or throughout our stay despite our frequent check-ins. We were also disappointed to miss the Christmas activities entirely. After asking multiple times, we were repeatedly told that the staff had not been informed of any planned events, only to learn later that a special dinner and activities were happening that evening. The only activity listings were posted on small sheets of paper in an area we didn’t frequent, so we had no way of planning ahead. We were not informed upon check in if there were an apps that we should be dialed in on to stay on top of activities. As for the Preferred Club, we paid for the upgrade but found the benefits inconsistent. Our original room was not the full ocean view we booked, though the front desk did correct this. However, Preferred Club amenities such as dedicated service, exclusive areas, and consistent poolside wait service were limited or not enforced, and many guests who hadn’t upgraded were using the same spaces. My biggest concern was the handling of gluten‑free food. Staff were friendly, but there seemed to be limited understanding of cross‑contamination and accurate labeling. Several dishes marked gluten‑free contained ingredients that were not safe, which made meals stressful and, at times, made me feel unwell. I do want to acknowledge the service staff, who were consistently warm, hardworking, and kind — especially those working on Christmas Day away from their families. Their efforts were truly appreciated.
