Our Dream Spring Break Turned Into a Nightmare
2.0My family of four booked two overwater villas at this hotel from April 1 to April 5, hoping to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime spring break vacation. However, shortly after checking in on April 1, our 10-year-old daughter slipped in the bathroom. Her foot struck the glass shower door, causing the entire door to shatter. She suffered multiple cuts on her legs and a deep triangular laceration on her foot. The hotel staff provided first aid that day, and a doctor examined her the following day, changed her dressing, and issued a medical report. I requested an official incident report from the hotel, but the manager told me he could only report the incident to the corporate office and that the official report would be provided within one week. The hotel informed us that it would only cover our daughter’s medical expenses, and that any other compensation would have to be handled through its insurance company. Because of the injury, our daughter was unable to swim, snorkel, or participate in almost all of the activities we had planned. Our entire spring break was effectively ruined. What disappointed us even more was what happened afterward. Despite repeated follow-ups over the following months, we never received the promised incident report. We received no compensation beyond the medical expenses, no goodwill gesture, and no meaningful communication. For a luxury resort, the lack of accountability and compassion was deeply disappointing. A beautiful destination alone does not make a five-star experience. How a hotel responds when a guest is injured matters just as much. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of our expectations. In addition, we found the resort disappointing in many other ways. There appeared to be maintenance work taking place during our stay, which raised concerns about safety. The food was surprisingly poor for a luxury resort, and mosquitoes were a constant nuisance throughout our visit. Out of respect for our daughter’s privacy and to comply with TripAdvisor’s media guidelines, we are not sharing photos of her injuries. Instead, we are sharing photos of the shattered glass scene where the accident occurred.

10.0Amazing place, best location
10/10 experience, would definitely recommend!!
10.0Me and my partner decided to have our wedding ceremony at the Intercontinental and also stayed here and let me just say, this was the best stay I’ve ever had anywhere! The staff who were all so helpful and lovely (big thanks to Leana, Nina and the man at the front desk who checked us in and out - unfortunately I didn’t get his name), and made our big day so easy and stress free. Starting with arrival - we arrived at 9am and our ceremony was at 11am, they allowed us to check into our room early so we could get ready with ease and even steamed my husbands suit for us! Leana stayed with us throughout the whole ceremony and photoshoot afterwards and Nina was with us for just the ceremony. Both of the girls took lovely photos of us at our ceremony, printed them and displayed them nicely on our table for when we got back. It was the lovely thoughtful touches like this that made our day so so special and perfect! The room itself was 10/10, the view was incredible and the villas were so spacious and spotless! Lots of really cool touches like the glass coffee table that opens over the sea! Everything about this resort was absolutely incredible, we stayed with them right before they closed for renovations so the resort was super quiet - we only really saw less than 20 people or so during our stay! We also loved the fact that all of the staff went above and beyond to make your stay seamless, from things like an early check in to having a day room after we checked out before the boat came to take us back. Nothing was ever inconvenient/annoying for us, it was such a relaxing experience. It was very private which was lovely and had the best view of the mountains on the mainland of Bora Bora. Honestly, couldn’t think of a better place to have had our wedding & honeymoon, I would definitely recommend this hotel!!
A dream come true
10.0The beautifull location, the watervilla, staff, facilities all. We had a villa with a beautifull view of Mount Otemanu. Everywhere you looked at the resort you had a beautifull view. It all was like a dream come true
− Nothing. Maybe some more traditional Tahitian dancing
10.0Tout !
− Rien!
