The Berkeley hotel is fantastic! For the price you couldn’t fault it. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were all so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was delicious and it was great to have it included. It took about 40 minutes to walk to the old town and about 6 euros in an Uber. It only cost us 21 euros from the airport in an Uber. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Dubrovnik!

Great hotel with the best staff

If you want a hotel that’s spotless, has fabulous staff, decent included breakfast and reasonably priced, then this place is for you. A 30 mins walk into the Old Town, but there are regular buses from the road by the harbour: if you have mobility issues however you may struggle with this location. Really comfy beds/decent hairdryer in room/robes and slippers/great quality shower gel shampoo etc, as well as touches like sewing kit/shower caps and other bits. However the best til last; the staff - just amazing. So friendly 💕 We got there and Jan checked us in with info re buses etc; we asked about nearest shop to get milk for a cuppa ( teas coffees etc in room), and he went straight to kitchen and got us a small jug full. Ines and Maria always smiling, asking how your day was, what you had planned, did you need anything - lovely touch to come into the breakfast room each morning to speak to guests. Then Lydia, once she had made the breakfast coffee on the 1st day, she remembered and welcomed you back on all others days confirming you still wanted that order. We put our cases in the luggage room on the last day, and went back for them before going to the bus station. We had half an hour to kill so stayed in reception. The lady there ( we had not seen her before), made us a coffee and we saw her check all the guests in, and was chatty, smiley and informative. A great stay - as you can tell we loved it.

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I never had this kind of hospitality in any hotel. Great hotel on nice place, close to the main harbour and 15min walk from the Dubrovnik old town 👌

FANTASTIC HOTEL AND STAFF

Absolutely fantastic hotel. From start to finish everything was brilliant for us. Staff were all amazing - helpful, friendly, happy, smiley, wonderful. Lydija at breakfast was our server and nothing was too much trouble. She had a gorgeous smile every day and a wonderful memory! Elma on reception, again a beautiful smile to greet you every day and so helpful. In fact every single member of staff we were in contact with were amazing. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and the pastries and cakes - wow! All homemade and delicious baked by the onsite pastry chef (sorry didn't get her name ). Rooms were very good size and extremely clean with our room's balcony overlooking the pool (closed for the season but not an issue for us). Cannot say enough about how enjoyable our stay here was. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Anyone coming to the beautiful Dubrovnik should book a stay here. Gruz is a great base for visiting everything in the old town and the bus stop is literally outside of the hotel. Such a wonderful place and staff. Thank you all for an amazing stay!

Staff Treated Us Like Royalty, Room Was a Bonus

Wow, what a gem of a hotel. Our room looked like it had just been personally cleaned by a superhero with a vacuum. Spotless, modern, comfy bed that felt like sleeping on a supportive cloud. Fridge? Check. Coffee and tea? Check. Balcony for dramatic morning coffee sipping? Also check. Breakfast was included and honestly could have been its own attraction. Fresh food, hot and cold options, bacon, eggs, sausage, the works. And then came the coffee. Not just regular coffee, but fancy barista magic. The cappuccino was so good I briefly considered proposing to it. Yes, it was October and the pool was not heated. Did that stop me? Of course not. I jumped in like a brave, slightly shivering champion. It was less swimming and more involuntary cold plunge therapy, but I survived and felt strangely proud of myself. The real stars of this hotel are the employees. They answered every question, gave directions, made recommendations, and kept bringing us delicious drinks like coffee angels. Maria and Ines were especially amazing. They went the extra kilometers to make us feel welcome, cared for, and caffeinated. Would 100 percent stay again. Preferably when the pool is warmer, but either way, I am coming back for that cappuccino.

We just had 7 nights at this hotel and we couldn’t fault it. Modern, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was fresh, good quality and plentiful. The location which is off the main road is minutes from the bus stop to take you to the Old Town and we walked 10 mins to the bus station to visit Cavtat (which is a must place to go to as it’s so lovely!). This hotel is well placed for exploring Dubrovnik. It is near the Dubrovnik Beer Company and The Red Museum! A big thumbs up for both. The main thing though was the staff. Friendly and helpful at all times. Marija and the team (Anja especially although they were all excellent but we didn’t know everyone’s names) were 5 star and really went out of their way to be super helpful and giving advice on buses and places we visited! Brilliant! We can’t recommend this place enough!!
