Great trip and fun for the whole family! We love staying here and the waterpark keeps kids entertained. However, since selling day passes now it seems more crowded and takes away from hotel guests who are paying to stay for the amenities.

We really had a great time. Everyone was nice. But during the night the smoke detector was blinking and it was quite bright. The adult and child sleeping on the bed under the detector had a terrible time sleeping with a bright red light blinking over them. In the morning I messaged “Willow” I felt the response was not super sympathetic. We were told to leave the bathroom door open and the light on to minimize the brightness (yes we totally understand. You can’t cover smoke detector lights) but maybe if we had been told this could be an issue upon check in. Also we had a toddler. We can leave the bathroom door open. But the water park was amazing as always. Beds super soft. Just wish we could have slept a bit better without flashing light. Here’s a photo from 1am

Our summer vacation to the Lodge

I would rate our experience as an average experience. There were some maintenance issues going on with our room. The plug that was used for the microwave had a short in it, and if we wanted to use the microwave we had to move the whole thing. The water pressure for the sink was pretty much non-existent, just a small trickle of water coming out of the faucet. We were there when another large group of teen girls were there on our floor, they would enter and exit their rooms all night slamming their doors every time. Kept my kiddos up a lot. We had the refillable drink cups, but the ice was out the majority of the time in the drink machine. If you wanted ice you had to go to the room floor to get ice then go all the way downstairs to fill the cup. The kids enjoyed the water park, and laser tag, and the virtual reality game. We wish we could have enjoyed more bowling but there was only 4 lanes, and with the amount of people there it was pretty much full our entire stay. All in all though, it was good to spend some time with my children while they were unplugged from their electronics for a couple days.

We were excited for our first trip to Great Wolf Lodge Grapevine, but unfortunately a major billing error overshadowed what should have been a fun family vacation. We booked and paid for our stay using a gift card, yet our debit card was charged instead. We are still trying to get this corrected. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience—it caused unnecessary stress during our vacation. Instead of relaxing and enjoying our time together, my husband and I spent much of the trip worried about our money and whether it would be refunded. To make matters worse, when we spoke with customer service representative at the check in desk about the issue, the representative we dealt with was not very welcoming or empathetic. The customer service representatives over the phone however were very nice and helpful. When you’re dealing with a mistake involving someone’s money, a little kindness and understanding go a long way. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience. There were definitely positives. The hotel was very clean, easy to get to from Oklahoma, and most of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean as well, although it felt unnecessarily large for our family of three, with quite a bit of wasted space. This had the potential to be a great first visit, but a preventable billing mistake and a disappointing customer service experience left us frustrated. We hope the refund is processed quickly, but this experience made it difficult to fully enjoy our stay. This version is stronger because it emphasizes the impact of the billing issue without overstating what happened. It gives future guests useful information and gives the hotel clear feedback about what went wrong.

My 3, 7 and 12 year old had the best indoor water park experience ever! We will definitely be back! Make sure you get the magic wand, it kept them entertained.
