I have been here for 1 night and already there have been two members of the staff who have made my short time here truly special. A big shout out to Angel for playing water polo in the pool and to Tristian who, crushed me in giant chess, but made it super fun in the process. 5 stars.

The Fives Beach... the best premium experience

Amazing hotel in Playa del Carmen , Mexican Caribean! The food and service is excelent. I loved the beach! The pools are really incredible. The rooms are so comfy and cozy. Nearby Cancun international airport.ideal for vacations : couples, families and friends. The hotel staff is the best!

Paradiso en Mexico

The resort is great! The layout is really spread out with multiple pools, restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel staff do a great job of keeping the grounds nice and manicured. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff are absolutely fantastic to be around and interact with. There’s always something to do with all of the activities that they plan as well. They literally have activities for everyone. I would highly recommend for family’s or groups of friends alike to travel and truly experience what the hotel has to offer. The only drawbacks that I would say about the hotel were the beach area as it was a bit rocky and not the best for kids to play in the water, but that wasn’t why we chose this location anyway. That and the checkout process. Nobody warned us that the checkout process was in fact a “process.” They ask you take a very long survey about the hotel, which would be nice to be able to take while you were there so that you could give continual and thorough feedback about great experiences/staff to recommend for appreciation, rather than to take this rushed at the end. The whole process takes about 10 min. which isn’t that long, but when there are 3 other family’s/couples in front of you also waiting, and only 1 person doing the actual checking out and cutting wrist bands, we just don’t have that much time to wait while we have a shuttle waiting to take us back to the airport. I would encourage the hotel to possibly consider the progressive survey idea as opposed to “at the end” to save guests some time and get better feedback. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again and would recommend 10/10!

A family trip with memories that will last forever

We had a fun and exciting time, especially with most of our family there, 16 total. The Fives is a big resort with several pools and a beach area full of Bali beds, lounge chairs and several eateries. The restaurants are varied, offering something for everyone’s taste. The employees, whether they be maintenance people, servers or ambassadors are a joy to be with as they are always friendly, smiling and asking what they can do to enhance the experience. The resort is extremely clean, with attention to detail everywhere. First-class all the way!

Great customer service

We went at a very busy time (spring break) with 4 adults and 2 kids, ages 3 and 6. Good: Lots of pools, beautiful infinity beach pool, cool jungle in the center, good food, comfy beds, 3 bedroom condo type setting was perfect for us, and really great customer service (a special call out to Alejandro our server for the beach pool). Not so good: Crowded pools, beach was small, rough and rocky, long waits for restaurants, could hear music entertainment in our room at night, kiddie pool playground was "scary" due to large bucket of water constantly dumping out on it. Tips: Long waits for restaurants so send someone to put name in early, paying for a Bali bed was key for having space at the main pool/beach, there are a couple of restaurants and pools reserved for "members" only (you may get a sales pitch to pay for a membership but we did not), average kid age middle school/high school.

Another wonderful with a friend

Recently returned from another incredible trip to the Fives. This time it was a girls only trip with a good friend and was also very short. Once again the Fives did not disappoint. This is the very reason we keep coming back year after year. Special thanks to Omar and Rosie our very hard working ambassadors who do everything they can to make your staff extra special. So professional. Omar is a familiar face and feels like family to us. Diana while not our ambassador this time is absolutely wonderful and seeing her smile lights up a room. Thank you for remembering us. We were so fortunate to have access to the pool beds and this is what really makes our stay. Kendy and Alicia work so hard serving guests all day and they made us feel like Queens. Gracias All of the restaurant staff are wonderful. Our favourite restaurant was Thai and the Epic members options were incredible. Staff that stood out to us were Bernardo, Litzie and Martin. We did find the wait at Seasons which is the members only restaurant a bit long but I think it is because the kitchen is small and the menu too elaborate for the amount of orders. Carlos tried hard to keep us happy but we were hangry for sure. The taco stand was amazing as always. We were a little disappointed to see that Muelle Ocho was closed because we love the ceviche there. The members dinner was wonderful and much bigger than past. We loved the entertainment as always. Shows in the evening were not as elaborate as past but still very good. Karaoke was a blast and the host was very fun. We loved 1910 bar, great mezcal drinks there! We enjoyed the spa. Special thanks to Sheila and Angelica. Tony recognized me after a year and I was floored. She is beautiful inside and out and truly made us feel special. We had a wonderful time and most certainly will be back
