Loved the location, the staff were tremendous, but the hotel needs to up its standards.

Fabulous location & good sized rooms.

− Overall the property is tired, carpets dirty, the whole place needs decorating and a refurb, the bedroom smelt of dog, there was cobwebs, & the general standard needs to be improved.

Breakfast was not what i expected from a 4 star hotel.Buffet and continental very limited. Cooked breakfast disappointing. Eggs overcooked. only one rasher of bacon sausage tasteless.

− breakfast. Prices. A cheese sandwich on white bread for £12 is extortionate. Menu same all week.Why couldnt some effort have been put in to having at least one special meal each night Hotel needed to provide tourist information.None available. The garden adjacent to our room was poorly kept. Bushes needed pruning. Leaves needed sweeping.Showed a real lack of care. Website for hotel was misleading in my view.gave the impression Salcombe was close when in fact it was 4plus miles by car. Did not strike me as a four star hotel.

Very relaxing, excellent accommodation, superb breakfast and evening meal, Spa Facilities and views.

The location is remote, however, very relaxing and peaceful. The use of the Gym, Spa Pool and Sauna were excellent. There is a small Cove sandy Beach about 10 minute walk, which was fantastic and was great for sunbathing and swimming.

The location is stunning!!! Views over Soar Cove Bay and just a 10min walk down to a gorgeous deserted paradise. Our room overlooked the garden and was so pretty. The room itself was spacious, clean and nicely decoarted. Staff were super friendly and food/drinks options were excellent. Havig your dinner/breakfast overlooking the view was just incredible.

− Perhaps a little fridge in the room would be nice as it was so hot. We didn't use the pool as the weather was so good but from looking in at it it didn't look the best but who cares when you have the sea so close by! Not by any means a negative for the hotel but by aware that the roads to it are very narrow and windy. We actually enjoyed that experience but some may find it challenging.

For a four star hotel the level of cleanliness and service needs to be better.

The location is wonderful with a small cove within 15 minute walk.

− Room had sea views and were pointed out by reception team but the hedge in front of the bedrooms was so high the sea view was obstructed. Outdoor picnic tables were left with dirty glasses and plates for long periods.

Absolutely stunning location, awesome massage by Womba. Staff friendly and welcoming. Rooms very comfortable, clean with garden terrace. Excellent choice for breakfast.

− Didn't have air-conditioning but we were still comfortable.
