Could have been such a better experience.
6.0The check in policy was ridiculous. We had reservations. We arrived at 4pm to be told only one room was available on the ground floor next to the bistro. One thing you need to know is that if you are on the ground floor or even the 2nd floor you may not see the beach area as there are sand dunes in on the window side and on the ground floor you cannot keep you door open at night. I said I do not want that room. I was told they did not know when another room would be available as they were being cleaned. They could not assign us a room even with a wait time. She said you will have to just keep checking back. It could be hours and if someone walked in in the meantime they would give the room away. So we went to the bistro to get a drink and wait. Well the bistro was out of most beer so we decided to leave there. We went back to the lobby and I said we would just sit there until a room came available. After about 25 minutes the person said I can assign you a room but I can't exactly tell exactly when it will be ready. Maybe in 90 minutes or so. We said fine - left got something to eat and came back about 2 hours later. The room she had assigned us was not ready but she did transfer us to another room that would also be on the 3rd floor. We said fine. I have never experienced such a check in type of experience. The rooms are older but clean. Nothing fancy at all so I thought it was a bit overpriced. Not sure if I would return but would not unless they could guarantee a room on the 3rd or 4th floor. The area was beautiful and we enjoy Florence very much.
Holiday
10.0Beautiful hotel great views of the ocean. Definitely a plus for kids,splash pad and a pool. Has a play area unfortunately there was under construction on our visit. Great restaurant on site so you don’t have to get back in your car and drive huge plus amazing food great staff.
The Oregon mist from hotel is great.

Terrific place to stay.
10.0DS has easy access and is taken care of extremely well. My room was perfect for my needs - right size, easy access into and I was on the ground level so I stepped out directly to access the beach. Everything I required was furnished; any questions I had were immediately answered. Staff members were friendly and professional, everyone greeted me with smiles and hellos.

10.0Absolutely love Driftwood shores. They have amazing employees. April really is great . The only thing I think would be amazing for guest that are paying that price would be a free breakfast with their stay . Highly recommended this place .
The clerk’s flat affect was a shocker after stating they had no record of my reservation
2.0My husband and I made reservations from the hotel’s website a month ago; our reservation was for tonight (Sunday) through Friday. Upon check-in they said they had no record of our reservation. I showed the person at the desk the screenshot I had of the reservation. It was not pre-paid but the reservation was supposed to be paid at check in. Beware if you are planning a trip here!
