Beautiful location. If you like rustic cabins and don’t mind mosquitoes, this is a great choice.
5.0The location is amazing. Beautiful property right next to Johnston Canyon.
− Our room had at least 30 mosquitoes. Cabin rustic and not well maintained. Several maintenance issues and no curtain on a back window that let in a lot of light.
Beautiful place
9.0Atmosphere, friendly n kindness staff It was my 3rd staying here. But it’s first time to go to ink pods. Never miss there!!
− So many Mosquitos
Such Potential, Squandered
5.0The cabins are beautiful, but there is a big difference between those cabins along the outer row (most with a great view), and those cabins in the interior of the resort (with no views / privacy). The old-time (20s - 40s) music / radio shows were very excellent and really added to the ambience. The old 1930s Chevrolet cars parked around the cabins were also a nice vibe. The actual cleaning staff, or rather, the back-end staff, were very helpful and were the reason the stay was a 5 and not a 3.
− The price. $800 for a small one room cabin with no view, no privacy, and no additional amenities? And not even a kettle? Well, the strong musty smell was included free of charge. I think 200$ would be much more reasonable and appropriate. $800 should include some kind of spa or sauna and all food and drink/ meals included.... As it was, it was just a cabin. No other amenities included. The front-end / reservation staff. This will be a rant, but I think the owner needs to be made aware of how his staff is treating the guests: After booking, I inquired if there were other cabins available; the girl who works at the office replied tersely, saying that mine was the only cabin available. I inquired a day or so later to confirm, as I saw on other websites there were still cabins available. Then, suddenly there were multiple cabins available (I think the other girl at the front desk replied). So the next day I e-mailed again, and I tried to change my reservation to one of the other cabins; it was, apparently, now booked). At this point I gave-up correspondence with the front-end staff, who were totally unsympathetic and unhelpful. When I arrived to check-in, the girl I had been corresponding with even came out from the back of the office to overrule her coworker when I asked if there were other cabins available that day! She spoke with a demeaning tone that there were no other cabins available. Then, the other staff member asked me if I would like to change to another cabin, and I just couldn't believe the personal malice or deliberately unhelpful demeanor the Caucasian girl in the office could have towards me! In my opinion, she should be fired; a job in an expensive resort / the service industry is not for her.
