We loved the room, and the quiet vibe of the house. Homemade breakfast was served every morning by Dan, who was super helpful in choosing which Hikes to do!

− Only downside was the pool not being maintained. No communication about it in advance nor when we saw the hosts.

I spent some time thinking about a fair review. This bed and breakfast has a lot of positives going for it. The view is incredible. The pool area was super cute and the decor is unique. The outdoor shower and inset tub are very cool. The homemade bread and muffins were excellent! Our room was also impressively clean!

− The tough part of this bnb is that from the photos you can’t really tell that this property is quite literally at their house. It did feel like you were in someone else’s space. Upon check in we asked about a key to our room and they said one could be provided if we wanted so they’re operating on a trust system which is nice but odd. In the room we stayed in Honu - there is no door on the bathroom and there’s a mirror right in front of the toilet leaving very little restroom privacy. Because of the mirror you can be sitting on the bed and see the other person on the toilet. The mirrored closed in front of the toilet would be an easy change. The coffee left in the rooms is just instant coffee. The four post bed is beautiful but not practical/comfortable. Furniture/cushions on patios looked tired. In my opinion, bnbs/hotels should be replacing outdoor cushions every year as they see so much wear and tear in weather. Ultimately we left a day early as our bed at home just sounded more comfortable than another night. This bnb is good but could be excellent with some upgrades and perhaps a fresh set of eyes. It had the potential to be more luxe but it feels more budget. I hope the feedback here isn’t taken critically but constructively to make some great changes!

We had such a wonderful stay at Ho’oilo House. Dan’s hospitality made us feel right at home. The breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, and the house itself is so quaint and peaceful, the perfect place to relax. We can’t wait to come back!
