the worst hotel I have stayed in since backpacking round Turkey in 1983
1.0location good, bar staff friendly enough
− we didn't expect aircon, but when it is 30 degrees outside I don't expect to be told that you can't turn the heating off without turning off the hot water, so room was high 30s - upgrade the plumbing shower luke warm and would get wetter in the rain owner totally unwilling to accept that this is below standard
Good location but not much else to offer.
4.0Location. Cleanliness. Parking
− Dated. Tired. Overly hot. Bed soft and creaky. Was told the bar would shut at 10pm. Got back at 9/30 front door locked and no staff to be found.
Nice location, attention to plumbing required.
5.0Good location, nice traditional building, staff very friendly
− No ventilation in the room other than opening the window which meant loud traffic noise. Shower dripped loudly all night so it was a very noisy experience overall.
Basic ! A lot of rural traffic
6.0Location but very noisy with tractors ! Beer garden
− Noise and very hot bar and restraunt shut early
Great location in a lovely town.
7.0The hotel is in an excellent location. It's a focal point in the town with lovely independent shops, cafes, and Southwell Minster on the doorstep. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel has a lot of history and well worth looking into. The guest dining and sitting rooms were elegant, tasteful, and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of cereals, fruits, pastries, and cooked food to order. Service was quick and attentive.
− We were disappointed with the room. It was tired looking, and the view wasn't the best. The bathroom was adequate but dated. The duvet was well past it, too. The filling had gone, bare in places, and balled together in others. The room had a slightly grubby feel to it, but the spider in it's cobweb on the dressing table was very much at home.
Lovely stay, the hotel is interesting with lots to look at. The history of the building is fascinating too. We enjoyed v
10.0Nice location near the Minster and the shops
− Nothing
