8.0Breakfast was excellent
− rooms a bit outdated
Ok
4.0Close to our event
− Been charged twice and between the hotel and booking.com I’m still waiting for a refund nearly 7 weeks later
Weird place, need a good clean!
5.0Free parking was good. Decor in the bar was nice. Bed was quite comfortable.
− Poor upkeep in room. Chipped paint, moldy shower head, disturbing spray stains on the ceiling above bed, cobwebs in room, dust on most surfaces, broken plug socket behind tv dangerous, hidden charges for taking a dog. Fancy LED lighting in room but actually not that usable hard to see in the very darkly painted room. Weird mirror effect ceiling. Gardeners started power tools at 8:00am waking us up. Reception unmanned on arrival, bar and reception unmanned when we went for a drink later on.
Red light means danger.
6.0As per other reviews the room we had was not at all like the one on the website. We took our Collie dog with us on holiday and were allocated a room next to the car park. Once we managed to get our bags in past a huge Land Rover that was literally parked right in front of the entry steps, it was like walking into garish bridal suite. Marble effect walls, sparkly leather cow hide bed spread and the high(low)light was the ceiling mounted Perspex LED lights and bright red lighting. We had to laugh. We’re we in Amsterdam’s red lighting district, or rural Wales? Even Lawrence Lewelwyn-Bowen wouldn’t have gone that far! We couldn’t feel the springs in the mattress thankfully as per other reviews. The en-suite needs a serious overhaul with mouldy ceiling, sealant and flaking paint. On the plus side the food was fine and the restaurant, though a bit soulless, was presentable. The staff were nice too. If you like weird interior design in a 15th century house then this could be the place for you. Thanks, but we won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Excellent food.Wonderful service.
10.0Fantastic stay, welcoming staff members, who looked after us throughout our stay. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We would both highly recommend a stay here. Tip top experience.
