A two night stay at The Reading Rooms and this was perfect for my needs. Easy to find and located in the centre of Haydon Bridge. Although there was no private parking with the accommodation, there was plenty of free on-street parking nearby. Despite my coming and going from the property, I was pretty much able to park at the front door throughout my stay and never felt challenged with the parking. The Reading Rooms as the name suggests was built for that purpose and as a building, came with its own little piece of local history. There's plenty of information about that on site should you be interested. I stayed in room 3 which was a double room with en-suite bathroom. The room was of a very good size with plenty of space. The double bed was very comfortable and I slept like a baby on both nights of my stay. Cleanliness of the room and throughout the rest of the building was faultless. What was really nice was to have access to a kitchen and separate dining area. Great if like me you're travelling for work and don't want to be forced into eating out or want to get something local and have somewhere to bring it back to and sit and eat in comfort. With that in mind, on arrival I was met by Brian the host. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. His advice about where to eat or purchase food locally was invaluable as well as the places to avoid! I did try one of his recommendations one evening and wasn't disappointed. Breakfast here is more in the form of continental help yourself. Plenty of cereals, fresh fruit and berries, yoghurt, fruit juice etc. I quite like the informality of this. Now Haydon Bridge being such a beautiful and historic little village/town it was such a pleasure to take the time to walk around and explore and if staying here, I would certainly recommend doing so. Not only does it have its own history and charm but it is ideally located in Hadrian's Wall country with plenty to explore on your doorstep.

Staying a little longer would have been better other than that, it was a very pleasant stay.
