Location was perfect, closer to subway, very beautiful rooms

Good hotel, but could be better

Nice bed, large bathroom and an incredible breakfast sets this hotel apart. Good central location and accommodating staff.

− They also had no record of our book in on arrival and made us wait a long time to sort it out. Only 2 English speaking channels was poor. The Jacuzzi was empty day 1 and cold day 2. I got to use it on Day 3 but Is was lukewarm at best.

Service excellence deserves a shoutout to the Concierge Chap named - Amber 🌟 Thought I had lost my Fitness Tracker Band during a room change. This amazing concierge staff managed to locate it and even offered to send it to my next hotel in another China city. To top it off, knowing that my online parcels hadn't arrived in time, he offered to receive them on my behalf and send everything together. While my stay wasn't perfect, this young chap reminded me that one exceptional employee can completely change a guest's experience. Thank you for going above and beyond, even after I had checked out. Breakfast selection was surprisingly good too.

− We booked 4 Junior Suites for our stay in Dalian, but unfortunately the experience was far from seamless which give me a second thought to stay with this brand. Upon arriving at around 9pm, we were greeted by a front desk male staff who seems to be having a bad day. After accommodating some fairly basic room requests ie. having our rooms located on the same floor, the key cards were simply handed over in a rather dismissive manner. For a 5-star international hotel chain, I am not expecting this kind of service attitude, especially during a check in which give guest's first impression. The challenges did not end there. Out of the 4 rooms booked, 2 rooms experienced bathroom drainage issues that resulted in flooding after showers, while another room had water leaking from the ceiling in the middle of the night. As we were travelling with young children, safety was a significant concern hence we requested for a room change for one of the room. What made the situation even more frustrating was that despite repeatedly seeking assurance that the replacement room had been thoroughly inspected, we encountered yet another issue - a malfunctioning air-conditioning system. The only solution offered was another room move. After long days of sightseeing, having to repeatedly pack and unpack luggages with children in tow was exhausting. Despite the acknowledgement of the several issue, they have upgraded us to their second-highest suite category, complete with Executive Lounge access. I'm not impressed with the old furnitures and dusty room. Honestly, I am not seeing it as a value-added arrangement. Whats the point of extending these to us when we will be out of the hotel the entire time? The lounge itself offered spectacular views overlooking Zhongshan Square. However, the food and beverage offerings were rather underwhelming compared to the Executive Lounges we have experienced at other properties.
