Nice hotel with problem air con
6.0There is plenty of nice things about this hotel, food, rooms, swimming pool, but it’s totally let down by the air con and lifts. The air con in our room was near non existent and in temperatures up to 35 degrees everyday it was not good at all, most people we talked too were complaining about it too. Lifts, are small and can only accommodate 4 people at a time, they are very slow, and if like me you can’t walk up stairs because of knee problems, you could be waiting a long time, especially in the busy times. We had a nice room plenty of space for two of us but my daughter had her 16yr old son and husband with her and all three ended up in a double room with an extra bed, quite a squash as the third bed was pushed up against the wardrobe space.
Poor
4.0I would give this hotel a 2.5 starts at best. The hotel is very clean and the food is ok but most of the time very bland, it doesn't really have much else going for it. The air con in the rooms is next to nothing, even after complaining and them saying its fixed it still wasn't good enough. I spent at least half the weak of my holiday sleeping on the tiled floor and seriously contemplating on living the rest of my holiday in the hotel reception as that was the coolest place. I was going to sleep outside on the balcony but the hotel was infested with cockroaches, we would see them most mornings and they do like to chase you around the hotel. You will also find them regularly floating around the swimming pool throughout the day or dead pool side where people have fished them out, you would also find them around the pool swimmers. We had paid for an all inclusive holiday which didn't actually turn out like that. When ordering drinks you have to give them tokens, you family members all get given 2 tokens each, if your with a large family and want to get drinks for everyone be prepared to have tokens given back to you as only 1 person is to be given 2 drinks at a time so dont expect to go to the bar with 4 cups as you will be given 2 tokens back. Cocktails you have to pay for unless its the mocktails which then you just get them to add the spirits. All they have alcohol wise thats free in the day is the house beer and the house spirits which is vodka, white rum, whisky and gin. If you want anything else you have to pay for it. Wine is only available in the evenings as well as ice cream. If you would like ice cream in the day you will have to pay for that also. There isn't much to do for kids with families, nothing get put on for the young kids. The kids club was always closed when we checked. The evening entertainment is rubbish, it get cancelled last minute and its usually just background music. The only thing thats consistent is the bingo. The hotel has gone down hill since I last stayed here a good few years ago. Im hoping this isn't the same with all globales hotels otherwise I shall not be booking with them again..
A nice hotel
6.0Overall a good holiday but felt the hotel’s entertainment wasn’t very good at all. The clown show we watched at 10 pm was catered more for children. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious. Needed a mirror above the dressing table.
ok hotel
6.0Rooms, they're nothing fancy but clean and big enough. Ours was air conditioned, room 312, however the other 6 rooms in our group had issues with theirs not working. Fans were offered, and one room was changed. Walls are maybe a little thing as you could here what was going on next door. Food, food was fine, better selection at dinner time we thought rather than at tea. Breakfast was ok, only spanish bacon (which i dont mind) . But again plenty of choice, pastries, cereals, fruit , cold meat etc. theres a small selection outside by the pool, salad , burgers, nuggets, pizzas etc. Pizzas are good, fresh stonebaked type. Lifts, the reviews are right, there is only 3 and they are slow and small. And definitely in need of a revamp, as very scruffy looking. Pool Area There was always a sunbed, we were a big group and usually managed to get beds close to each other. The rules for the pool vary depending on which lifeguard you get. Alot of people (adults and children) were wanting to throw balls to each other , somedays this was fine other days it wasnt. we did spot the odd coackroach :( Bar the bar is a token system, 2 drinks per person which is strict. I dont like this as the queues get silly and the plastic cups arent massive so by the time youve drank up its time to queue again. This is the same at the inside bar but with glasses rather than plastic cups. location we found the location fine, on a bit of a hill but not massive. 5 mins from beach, a few minutes from closest shops and bars, restaurants. Banana's , Reflex, Castaway were just a few. Its about 20mins from the airport. Would we stop again, yes probably if the price was right.
Wouldn’t recommend
4.0Overall not a positive stay at this hotel. Very rude front of house staff specifically reception. Unfriendly faces that didn’t want to help and anything asked seemed like you were being an inconvenience to them. Lifts were an issue - only 3 and they were very tiny. If using a wheelchair or pushchair would definitely struggle fitting in. Waiting for a lift took ages and a lot of the time we had to walk up to the 7th floor. Token system seemed pointless considering we were still given colour coded bands depending on level of board. For all inclusive we couldn’t just help ourself to fizzy drinks but had to queue with everyone else wanting cocktails or paid drinks. For some reason pool bar didn’t like giving water out as mentioned to us to go to the restaurant but obviously it’s not open all the time. Only one bar open in evening time. Queues ridiculous for getting a drink. Location ok but steep steps down to the road that leads to the beach. Noisy sleeping. Walls felt paper thin. Groups slamming doors and shouting often. We did ask to move and one member of staff said to come back in the morning and we can move you and when we did they said they couldn’t. so overall gave up talking to reception as waste of time. We did have an issue with no water coming from shower or taps for like 6hours on one evening. Reception handled it terribly when we rang down to ask what was going on they were rude and dismissive saying they can’t do anything. Food was good however timings seemed quite limited for example breakfast only being open from 8am-10am. Cleaning staff were friendly and kept our room tidy. Rooms were modern however missing a kettle and tea station. Definitely not a 4 star hotel and wouldn’t recommend.
Guest review
7.0− We recently stayed at the Globales Mimosa hotel in Palmanova. Unfortunately, the hotel was a major disappointment and definitely does not live up to its 4-star rating. We will certainly not be returning, and here are the main reasons why: Elevator bottleneck: For a 9-story building housing around 700 guests, there are only three elevators available. They are incredibly slow. The wait times are endless, leading to constant crowding, so we often had to take the stairs. Overpriced safe and paid parking: Despite being a 4-star property, we were asked to pay a staggering €75 just to use the basic room safe! For a hotel of this caliber, securing your valuables should be included in the price, not charged as an expensive extra. On top of that, parking is also paid at €5 per day. Unwelcoming staff: With very few exceptions (literally just a couple of polite employees), the staff looked gloomy and annoyed. There was no warmth or welcoming smiles; it felt as though the guests were a burden and owed them something. Repetitive food: The dining experience was incredibly monotonous. Every single day was exactly the same: breakfast always consisted of just four types of eggs and basic cheese. The menu never changed, and there weren't even simple options like porridge. Inconvenient location: The walk to the beach is quite long. To make matters worse, the path to the sea cuts right through noisy shopping streets and tourist stalls, which makes the walk tiring rather than relaxing. Dirty towels: The cleanliness of the linens was another major issue. Almost every time we received "fresh" towels, they were stained with foundation, mascara, or other random spots. The housekeeping staff simply replaced dirty towels with other poorly washed ones
