old-fashioned hotel with spacious air-conditioned rooms and a lovely pool made for a great stay
10.0I loved this rather old-fashioned hotel with spacious air-conditioned rooms, super little balconies, and a pool really meant for swimming -- no shallow end! Set on the steep hill leading up to the fabulous little town of Vence, it has its own back-door route into town via a tiered garden. Vence has art, architecture, atmosphere and excellent food. It's much more real than the nearby, outstandingly touristy Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Public transport is very good and the owners who have had the hotel in the family since it was built in the early 1980s are a mine of local knowledge.
