Exceptional Hospitality at Hotel Alpenhof
10.0Hotel Alpenhof made our stay in Zermatt absolutely wonderful. Even though we initially went to the Alpen, they immediately came to pick us up without hesitation, and from that moment on the service was exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. The location is perfect — just a 5–7 minute walk to town and the train station, making it easy to explore without feeling too close to the crowds. Our room was fantastic, with dual sinks, a comfortable sitting area, and a peaceful river view. And truly, don’t worry if you don’t have a Matterhorn view from your room; you’ll see that iconic peak plenty of times throughout your stay in Zermatt. The only thing that surprised us was the “naked” spa area. We’re a bit more modest, so the full nudity caught us off guard and we didn’t fully take advantage of the steam room or sauna. But that’s a cultural preference, not a reflection on the hotel itself. Overall, Alpenhof delivered comfort, kindness, and a great alpine atmosphere. We’d happily stay again.

10.0Incredible property. By far the best room we stayed in during our 8 day trip. Breakfast was 10/10, restaurant dining was delicious. The room itself was fully equipped, the free minibar (first topup free) was a nice touch also.

Please note that Zermatt is a car-free village. Guests can park their car in Täsch (garage parking) and continue to Zermatt by train or taxi.

Renovation Alpine Chic Rooms
Until mid-December we are renovating all Alpine Chic rooms with a complete new look. The entire side of the Hotel above the bar will therefore be closed, the Spa, Restaurant, Bar and smoking lounge stay open as per usual. Some construction noise will be expected.
