9.0For my money, this is the place to stay at in Granada. Room one of the best I've had, in terms of charm and character (tiled floor, wooden beams, fantastic dark wooden shutters; Alhambra view in corner in one window; who doesn't love a bidet?), it couldn't have felt more homely and Iberian (I guess? hallo cliché). Hotel situated in Albaicin which is the most interesting area of Granada (obs apart from Alhambra itself); 2 min walk to Mirador de San Nicolas and 10 min to town centre; bus stop right in front of my nose as I leave the hotel.
− small niggle - breakfast wasn't something to Instagram. OK, the traditional Spanish breakfast seems to be a somewhat modest affairs (says my guide book), so one could say this was authentic. The lovely owner (or owner's mother) did offer to make us eggs each morning (which we kindly refused; other guests seemed to enjoy egg-based dishes)
