While not the smallest, the rooms still will leave you feeling cramped. Our first stay was on the top floor facing the park, which was great. Our second stay was on the middle floor facing the patio, which was not great. This is a pub, and while patrons were not exceedingly noisy, it only takes a few people outside your window on the patio talking and laughing to make earplugs a necessity. Another problem is that this hotel absolutely does not respond to email inquiries. So if you need to contact them, you're going to have to call on the telephone or find someone in-country to call for you. Which is maddening, considering that their system sends automated emails. So they do have an email account, but apparently no one monitors it. So you can modify your reservation on their website, but then you get an email saying someone will be in touch to confirm the modification request. And that's where the system breaks down. So you're left not knowing whether your reservation has been modified or not, which is not good no matter how you slice it. On a positive note, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is really good. But that's not enough to make me come back, I'm sorry to say.

Rooms are Tired.

8.0

I stayed here 11years ago and loved it so thought I would stay here again. Disappointed, the staff and the food are outstanding but the rooms are very tired. We stayed in the room above the kitchen. The last person to lock up in the bar should turn the extractor fan but forgot. Hence we didn’t get any sleep listening to the fan all night. The lampshade was all split. After a terrible night we asked to be moved, they were very apologetic about the situation and moved us to the Millers Room which was lovely but once again very tired. Can I ask why there is No plugs in the sinks?? My friend was staying in another room and also had no sink plug. The breakfast and staff were amazing, it’s the rooms that are letting you down. For me I probably won’t stay again.
