Have to continue what we didn’t like as it doesn’t fit below: Disappointing Executive Club Lounge Experience: We went to the Executive Lounge at 5:30 PM on Friday, June 19th, looking forward to a relaxing evening. It was an awful experience. The hot food stations (pasta, sausages, noodles) were completely empty, and the charcuterie board looked like it had been dropped because there was absolutely nothing left on it. There were no replacements brought out, leaving guests aggressively scrambling for whatever scraps were left. We specifically paid the premium for club access to enjoy this amenity, and it was entirely pointless. We didn’t bother going on Saturday. Poor Food & Overpriced Coffee: The general breakfast options at the Executive level were very poor. The lounge coffee was so terrible that I went downstairs to purchase one from your cafe. I was shocked to be charged 68 RMB for a machine-dispensed coffee that wasn't even barista-made. We have stayed at the Shangrila Shenzhen and I recommend you visit their establish to compare their offering with yours.

− We booked a suite and an additional guest room specifically to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday and Father’s Day. We chose the JW Marriott expecting a relaxing, premium experience, but unfortunately, our stay fell short of those standards. We would like to highlight several issues encountered during our visit: Construction Noise: Our suite was located directly next to a massive construction site. We have a 3.5-year-old child and go to bed early, but we were subjected to construction noise until 10:00 PM- even on a Saturday evening ! We live in a quiet seaside home in Clearwater Bay, Hong Kong, and we certainly did not expect to pay for a holiday only to be subjected to noise pollution. Subpar Suite Amenities (Room 2318): The air conditioning in our suite was loud, weak, and left the room smelling stale. It felt incredibly outdated and ineffective for a luxury property. Our other room 2015’s aircon was great. Lack of Pool facilities & Zero Service: The pool area is much smaller than advertised (I overheard this sentiment from another Hong Kong family who was also at the pool). Given it was a public holiday weekend and a hot summer day, the pool was visited by families (which gives a great atmosphere) yet there were only three sun loungers available. I even witnessed guests having to pile their personal belongings on the floor. Furthermore, there was no food or beverage service available at the pool. My husband had to spend effort just trying to explain to your team how to help us order a drink by the poolside.

Warmth amidst hot summer

It is my first time in Shenzhen and I chose JW Marriott hotel in Futian because back in my home country Singapore JW Marriott hotel is my favourite. The service and hospitality here is amazing and staffs are helpful and polite. Special shout out to housekeeping staff Ms 唐西彩 who made our room throughout our stay as she is so lovely and helpful. In addition, I would also like to thank the concierge and front office staffs who helped us. Will definitely choose this hotel when I come back to Shenzhen again.

I had a wonderful stay and am truly grateful for the excellent hospitality shown by the entire JW Marriott Futian team, special mentions of Morgan and Penny from Concierge ("礼宾部") —everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I was also pleasantly surprised by the value for money; we had the JW Suite with Executive Lounge access, given the room rate, the size and comfort of the suite were exceptionally generous.

− My only minor gripe is the Wi-Fi connection, which was frustratingly weak and made it impossible to access Google, YouTube, or WhatsApp reliably. A friendly tip for future guests: save yourself the headache and rely on your own international phone card or mobile data for anything important, rather than depending on the hotel network.
