Practical place to stay in Osaka

4.0Our room had no cupboards or drawers for storing our clothes so we had to live out of our suitcases all week. I asked for a change of rooms to something which had cupboards and drawers but was advised none of the rooms had any. The room would have been OK for an overnight stay but not for an extended stay. The buffet breakfast was barely adequate. No room-safe to store valuables. No blockout curtains. No cable TV, only local Japan TV. Unless the bathroom door was left ajar there was no airflow into the room while having a shower. No chair(s) to sit on and relax. Staff were polite and courteous. Our floor and presumably other floors had a drink vending machine, an ice machine and a cold water dispenser. Air conditioning worked well which was necessary as Osaka was very hot. Unlimited tea, coffee and milk sachets were available in the foyer. Beds were quite comfortable. The hotel was located adjacent to JR Osaka Station West exit and a short walk to Daimaru shopping centre. It was also only about 300m from the Airport Limousine Bus drop off point. Early check-in was available for a Y3000 charge. We certainly wouldn’t stay there again but others may see it differently.

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare requires all international visitors to submit their passport number and nationality when registering at any lodging facility (inns, hotels, motels, etc. ). Additionally, lodging proprietors are required to photocopy passports for all registering guests and keep the photocopy on file.
