A unique venue in the middle of the rainforest. Secluded and private. Small negatives only.

8.0

An amazing location, right in the middle of the rainforest. The cabin was secluded and private and well appointed. The breakfast was good - our first was the best as we both got coffee pots and the serving sizes were generous. The cabin shower was terrific - a full length window out to the rainforest. Sasha the manager was very attentive and helpful.

It is showing its age a bit. There is rust in the roof over the outdoor section of the cabin, and the walkway has brackets that hold the metal rail up that are missing screws and are not attached properly. The basin in the bathroom is too high unless you are 6 foot 6 and there is no fan so the steam mists everything up. The breakfast servings got smaller as our stay progressed, and we only go one pot of coffee to share for day 2/3/4. Internet connectivity is through Starlink and there is no reception in the cabins - just a tv with a dvd player and only 1 bar phone reception in the cabins.

The breakfast was something I would expect at a roadhouse, not an expensive lodge. A disappointing experience in terms of staff service and breakfast in what could be an amazing experience. The rainforest shower and cabins are beautiful.

A brilliant place to switch off and experience the Daintree Rainforest.

10.0

We stayed at Daintree Wilderness Lodge for two nights and it was exactly what we were looking for. It really does feel like you’re staying in the middle of the rainforest, with nothing around you apart from the trees and wildlife. The cabins are spread out nicely, so it feels quiet and private, and it’s a great location for exploring the Daintree and Cape Tribulation. We had quite a packed itinerary and were setting off before breakfast each morning, so it was a really nice touch that the lodge provides a breakfast bowl that you can keep in the fridge in your cabin. It meant we could still have breakfast before heading out early. One thing that really surprised us was the restaurant. The food was genuinely excellent and much better than we expected, and we ended up looking forward to dinner each evening. The staff were also lovely, friendly, welcoming and happy to help with anything we needed. We’d definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the Daintree properly.

The Wi-Fi doesn’t really extend into the cabins, so if you need a reliable internet connection for work or streaming, it’s worth knowing before you book. That said, it actually encouraged us to switch off for a couple of days and made the whole experience feel even more relaxing.

Beautiful accomodation amongst the cassowary, rainforest and wildlife

10.0

The villas are located within the rainforest and you feel so connected to nature, the beds were amazing and so comfortable

There is only internet in the restaurant so no real ability to stream or watch TV, there’s also not much to do but read, sleep or relax which is not a bad thing!
