Personnel agréable et aux petits soins. Le petit déjeuner est très bien et l'établissement a un certain charme. Pour celles et ceux qui aiment les anciennes bâtisse avec leurs petits inconvénients, mais qui apprécie à la fois cette authenticité et son cadre atypique seront ravis. Le restaurant est très agréable, très abordable et les plats bien préparés.

We were kindly upgraded from ‘charme’ to ‘luxe’. The room was huge with a terrace and loungers. Fabulous breakfast.

Le cadre et la situation du château sont fort appréciables.

− La vétusté du château est nettement plus marquée que celle des dépendances. Les matelas sont plutôt fermes et offrent un confort limité. Nous avons également constaté la présence de plusieurs toiles d'araignée et d'un peu de poussière autour des fenêtres. Dans la salle de bain, quelques carreaux de carrelage étaient manquants et la cabine de douche, assez exiguë, était équipée d'une porte qui ne fermait pas correctement, ce qui entraînait des projections d'eau à l'extérieur.

I am writing in response to the update given by the hotel from my google review, for some reason l cannot update it from that platform The management appear to have given the same standard response as they have to other guests who have had a poor experience. In this case you have completely ignored the actual detail of the complaint . Rooms not as described. I don’t care if you have different types of accommodation divided between the chateau. The room we had booked as depicted on the website was in the main building . What we were given was a dingy outbuilding and yes, it certainly did have its own unique character as per your response,but sadly not what we were expecting or had booked! Restaurant, we had driven for hours and were looking forward to eating at the chateau. Why advertise a restaurant if it is not open for the guests . The last thing we wanted to do was traipse out and be unable to have a drink on our last evening in France. You mention that you are always attentive to your guests and whenever possible offer solutions. Sadly this was far from forthcoming , we requested a refund as the booking was not what we were expecting or paid for,we were not offered alternative accommodation in the main building as depicted on your website and no hint of an apology. We would have happily gone elsewhere but no.. your team failed to give us that opportunity, we were met with hostility, indifference and very poor customer service … this is our actual experience, not something we have made up . You have failed completely to acknowledge my comment re the poor breakfast, lack of choice and quality, and certainly not value for money . I suggest you take accountability for the poor reviews as well as the good ones ! Thank you

Excellent value: a charming, slightly ramshackle rural chateau

Very conveniently located, just outside Boulogne, in its own grounds so very tranquil. Helpful and friendly staff. Our huge and very clean suite (sitting room, large bathroom, and separate bedroom) in one of the cottages was astoundingly good value and beautifully furnished with antique prints and stylish floral linen fabrics. Delicious food in the restaurant, and a really excellent breakfast with local yoghurts and cheeses from the region, alongside eggs, pancakes and very fresh bread. Do note that if you’re vegetarian, they would like you to notify the restaurant in advance so that they can prepare something for you; there was no vegetarian main course on the night we ate there and although the chef made a valiant effort to provide something interesting that wasn’t just a plate of vegetables (frankly a miracle in rural France), obviously it would’ve been better with some notice. We were also very impressed with the pre-arrival communication from the hotel. Not only did they note our mobility needs from the booking, assigning us a charming ground floor room, they took extra care to let us know in advance which bits of the château were and weren’t accessible.

− The grounds could do with a bit of maintenance, but given that you don’t sleep in the grounds, that’s just a small detail… however you do sleep on the mattresses and ours was pretty hard.
