Kimpton Hotel Palomar
8.0We stayed on a night when there happened to be a World Cup game going on in Philadelphia, so a lot of hotels were completely booked. This hotel has a good location, and service -- from the valets to the front desk to the restaurant -- was excellent. My only criticism is that we paid extra for a room with a view and there just isn't much of a view. We had a corner room on the 14th floor, Room 1411. It's a tiny room with three windows. As you can see from the photo, one window has a view of a brick wall, the corner window didn't show much and neither did the third window (because all the buildings are so tall in this neighborhood). Also, the third window was hard to look out because the desk blocked it. I would stay here again if I was splurging, but I definitely would not pay for a view. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and it was good. $21 for an omelette with potatoes; toast was an extra $6.
Awesome 4th of July Stay!!
10.0The hotel treated us so well and we were so happy we booked it last minute for July 4th weekend. Our room was clean and on a high floor. The bed was away from our door and the restroom which we loved. Being from New York and everything being so crammed, this was a nice change! Akira was super friendly at check-in and even upgraded our room. Ashley in the overnight gave us a late checkout and Paddy made sure our exit was smooth. They held our bags for the evening too. Awesome stay and would highly recommend. AC was strong which helped a lot in 100 degree weather. Lobby is clean and had fun Franklin busts decked out in FIFA gear for the World Cup! Stay here!

8.0We have stayed a number of times at the Palomar. The location is terrific - very close to Rittenhouse Square and easily walkable to so many wonderful shops, restaurants and neighborhoods to explore. Though the property could use an update, it's the staff that continues to impress. Thank you to front desk folks Akira and Mark (You'll easily recognize him - he looks like broadway theater actor Billy Porter!) Tanya and Cindy have been at the restaurant every time we come to Phili. They are warm and welcoming. If you are looking for a more boutique style hotel, the Palomar is your place!
Wonderful hotel - comfortable rooms and friendly staff
10.0My husband and I recently stayed at the Kimpton Palomar Philly for 6 nights, and overall, it was an extremely enjoyable stay. Irina at the front desk was friendly and welcoming, and Nick was equally pleasant, and a huge help with getting all of our bags upstairs while my husband parked our car. We were blown away by the generous room upgrade, and we absolutely loved our suite with jetted tub. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked great, and the mini fridge kept our drinks super cold. Complimentary wine hour with popcorn in the lobby was also a nice perk - my husband isn’t even a truffle fan, yet he said the popcorn was some of the best he’s ever eaten! Proximity to Rittenhouse Square (def the nicest part of the city) was excellent, and there are loads of restaurant options in the area. There were a few hiccups in our room - the tv signal was pretty bad, and the WiFi wasn’t great, but the positives far outweighed the negative, and we’d highly recommend the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia to anyone looking for an excellent hotel in Philly.
