Great Resting Place for Your Skiing Trip
10.0The St. Regis, Deer Valley, Hotel is an impressive luxury hotel. The enchanting entrance has striking lights on the sides, waterfalls, and little lanterns that glow at night. The hotel has a pool, two hot tubs, and great access to the ski area. You get on your skis at the lower lobby, ski for about ten minutes, then take a gondola up the mountain. At every good hotel you need good food. The St. Regis has three amazing restaurants, including a breakfast buffet. There is a large menu for kids at all of them. Also at every hotel, you want to have a room to spend the night. We had four people with three beds, but I’m pretty sure you can fit more people if you order cots. There were two rooms (one had a king bed for my parents and one had two queen beds for my brother and me). There is beautiful birch furniture that’s really comfortable and has extra pillows. The two bathrooms had two tubs, two showers, and two toilets. Unfortunately, the music players were impossible to find and activate. Finally, there are equally special events for kids and adults. I especially liked the stands for hot apple cider and amazing hot cocoa with toppings (chocolate shavings, marshmallows, and whipped cream). They were open all day long, even at midnight. The Champagne Blade is when the manager takes a bottle of champagne and strikes off the top with a sword. There is champagne for adults and fermented apple cider for kids. You can also watch the ski tournament/race every day from the hotel terrace and pool area, and also from some of the rooms that are facing the ski mountain. This makes a splendid experience. I think the St. Regis Hotel is a great resting place for your skiing trip. Samuel L. (gr.4, age 9)
Nice hotel, great space, great staff and good food
8.0We had a nice stay at St Regis, lovely room though a bit worn, the Rime restaurant was excellent though pricey as was the spa. Special note - We got an incredible massage by Angelica … one of the best! Thoughtful and diligent job. The shared spaces were gorgeous and the staff are attentive and catch every ask or question. Nice work!! About the only challenge I have is when I compare to their peers they don’t have much in the way of outside activities which when you take into account the high resort and mandatory parking fees you don’t get what you would get at a similar 5 star in the area. As to the room bed was great but the floors were pretty beaten up (check out the deep groves by the tv from years of repeated dragging the tv table !) and some of the furniture seemed to be worn out. If you’re 5 star you shouldn’t have that.
A Great Family Ski Trip
10.0We just got back from this resort after spending 4 nights here for a family ski trip. We have been before over the summer as a couple but first time skiing. The service every where in the hotel is amazing and personal. They really went above and beyond for us to make sure our experience was great. Amaria at the front desk is fabulous and has a great future in hospitality. We loved the ski concierge above any other ski resort we have been to- they are great and so helpful One thing that was missing was an area for teens and kids.
St. Regis Deer Valley hotel is the top service hotel we’ve ever experienced in the world!
10.0My wife and I have traveled the world for many years and stayed in countless luxury hotels so what I have to say is very measured by our experiences. This particular St. Regis ranks as the number one service hotel we’ve ever been to! ! From the moment we arrived earlier this week we were amazed at the servant culture that has been established here by the management. We’ve hosted Horst Schulze the founder of Ritz Carlton who has spoken many times for our organization about culture curation and let me say this hotel has it down to the tee. The manager on duty , I believe his name was Thomas , upgraded our room from a mountainside King to an executive suite when he discovered they had given us a handicap room. After buying coffee one morning we were contacted by their cafe asking if we would like the same order delivered to our room every morning at whatever time we needed. I accidentally dropped a $500 gift card one day and the bell girl knew our name and found us and returned it promptly! Every time I walked by one of their staff most of the time they called me by name and asked if they could serve us in any way. I told my wife it almost feels like they think we’re celebrities! From the restaurant wait staff to the ski valet to the shuttle service it was like that everywhere we went. This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location but the staff here takes it to another level! Well done St. Regis Deer Valley team ! You’re the best I’ve ever seen!
Spa is awful
4.0Spa is not great. First off I did not stay at the hotel so this review is specifically for the spa as I stay in a neighboring condo and booked a massage. Booking is very easy online and I booked a 9am 60 minute massage. I arrived early and the spa was closed so I wandered around the shops and lobby and promptly arrived at the spa at 9am which is when they open. I stood in the spa reception area for 5-10 minutes before someone finally showed and she asked if I’d been checked in, I told her I had not. Another 5 minutes go by. Then I’m rushed to the locker area by the manager and I ask if my massage is at 9:30 thinking maybe I’m mistaken given they weren’t open and weren’t present to check me in so maybe I have plenty of time. The manager comes back and tells me it is in fact at 9am and that I should hurry. So I undress and put on my robe but there’s no one to show me to where I’m meeting my therapist so I wander more.long story short all this actually was used to cut into my massage time, which is simply absurd. How could I possibly be ready to go at exactly 9 when you’re not even open and then you don’t have anyone at reception? So my 60 minute massage was more like 40-45 minutes. The whirlpool was also not open despite the fact that I called several days ahead to ask about amenities and was not told. When I said something on my way out at checkout to the woman checking me out the manager was standing there on the phone and cut me off and even in front of whoever she was on the phone with told the woman I was speaking to not to speak to me and that she would handle it and then told me that this woman “works for her”. I then explained to her my dissatisfaction and she just acted like I was crazy. I have never in my life had such a ridiculous experience at a high end spa and am really surprised that this is the level of service the St Regis is happy delivering. I will go to another resort spa next time.
Uncooked food
2.0the food was horrible my grilled cheese was uncooked and they didn’t even give me my COOKIE. I do not recommend if ur with family or if you want a budget sustainable lunch. One thing of mac and cheese was 15 dollars for craft mac and cheese.
