The breakfast & the room service meals we had were fantastic. The spa treatments were amazing. The turn down service was a real bonus. We arrived after midnight, & the Team had prepared supper for us & popped it in our apartment, that was a lovely surprise.

− It would have been great to have a lounge suite in our living room area. There was only a very casual sofa seat, which was not very comfortable.

Private location, beautiful beach, spacious beachfront villa, exceptional staff, peaceful atmosphere, and immaculate grounds. The beach was kept spotless, the food was excellent, and it was the perfect place to relax

− The reason for giving this resort the lowest grade is that the Villa's are very different from what is displayed on Booking.com and are not of 5-star standard, so we recommend caution, especially if you want to book a longer stay. To be clear, the promotional pictures of the beach, pool and surrounding gardens are indeed nice and correct. The biggest issue with the villa's that is not shown on Booking.com is the open setup and faulty door fittings. The bathroom is open and not separated from the outside environment. As a result, it is very humid, not airconditioned and mosquitoes and other insects can move in and out freely. In the main room(s) both the entrance door and terrace doors have visible gaps around the wooden frames, even when fully closed. Because of this, possibly Dengue-infected mosquitoes and insects can freely enter the room. As a result, the guest has to sleep under a mosquito net wearing insect repellent. Had the open bathroom concept and poorly sealed doors been transparently presented on Booking.com, we would we would not have booked at this property. We raised our concerns on the day of arrival. The next morning we were shown alternative (bigger) villa's, yet they all had the exact same flaws. We repeatedly asked to speak with the manager, but depending on who we spoke to, the manager was either unavailable, in meetings, or not at the property yet. In the end, having an oversensitivity for mosquito bites, we had no realistic option other than leaving the hotel after 1 of the 5 booked nights. Despite the clear mismatch between advertisement and reality, the hotel refused any refund for the unused nights, despite Booking.com trying to find a compromise (note that despite their willingness, there's very little that Booking.com can do in a case like this).

I came with my wife on our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. The whole staff exceeded expectations in their hospitality and personalized touch. The resort is tranquil and super relaxing with an amazing private beach. The restaurant and spa are both excellent. The watersports equipment was an especially nice touch for me, good shallow water for windsurfing beginners. At all times we felt really welcome and looked after, with frequent complimentary small gestures for the guests that made our day. As an example, my wife misstepped and hurt her foot and the very same minute Mr Duong noticed and approached us from the far side of the beach to offer his help. Above and beyond is clearly the mindset for the whole hotel staff. Amazing experience. Thank you for everything to the whole Chen Sea team!

− It's sad that the sea seems polluted at times, despite the hotel staff efforts to clean the garbage - but again that's all of Phu Quoc I suppose

Loved this boutique resort, really nice place to relax and enjoy the pool, spa and the sea. Typical idyllic beach resort. Feels really special, private & romantic the moment you enter the reception room area. Everything looks immaculately care for and has the eat, love pray vibe. Staff warm and friendly and we dined at the restaurant 2 out of the 3 nights, loved the food and night time atmosphere by the sea. Sunsets are amazing too.

− The weather was really hot & humid during our trip late April 2026. Apart from your cabin there is nowhere else to relax with air conditioning on (like when your having breakfast in the morning). Its just a small detail but would be nice to have the option "alfresco or inside". They do have fans placed around the restaurant though to compensate. I recommend get yourself one of those handheld fans, it will make the difference in the heat. Otherwise everything else was beautiful.
