I was very disappointed with my stay

I really wanted to love this hotel because I trust the InterContinental brand, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The biggest issue was communication. I understand that many people in China don’t speak English, and I completely respect that. However, I expected an international luxury hotel to have enough English-speaking staff to assist international guests. Check-in took nearly one hour, which is simply unacceptable. The staff member who checked me in could not communicate in English and was unfamiliar with the InterContinental Ambassador benefits. At first, she also refused to upgrade my room. Around 6:00 PM, there seemed to be only one person at the front desk who could communicate in English, making the process extremely slow and frustrating. That said, I want to recognize the employees who truly made an effort. A huge thank you to Joe Li and Tony Wong. They patiently answered my questions and were the only two front desk staff I encountered who could communicate comfortably in English. Tony was working in the morning, and Joe in the evening, and both were incredibly helpful. I also want to thank Jim from the bell service. He helped arrange my trip to the temple, used a translator to communicate with me, added me on WeChat in case I needed assistance during my stay in Sanya, and even replied to my messages on his day off. I am genuinely grateful for his kindness and dedication. The housekeeping staff also deserve recognition. Although they didn’t speak English, they made every effort to use a translator to ask what I needed, especially since I didn’t require my room to be cleaned every day. Their willingness to help was greatly appreciated. At the breakfast buffet, I noticed only one staff member who could speak English, and she was constantly busy assisting all the non-Chinese guests. She deserves recognition for the excellent job she does. We also had dinner at the Chinese restaurant every evening. The staff consistently used translation apps to communicate with us and always tried their best. Their effort and hospitality were appreciated. The room itself was beautiful with an amazing view, and Sanya is an absolutely beautiful city. My main suggestion to management is to invest in hiring and training more English-speaking staff. Sanya is welcoming more international visitors, and improving communication would greatly enhance the guest experience at an international luxury hotel. If you’re planning to stay here, I recommend downloading a good translation app before you arrive—and bringing plenty of patience.

огромные апартаменты, я не шучу) душ, ванная + помещение с тропическим душем, бассейн, своя лоджия. 80 квадратов это дикий восторг. персонал реагировал сразу, внимательный, доброжелательный. месторасположения идеально, со своим личным пляжем в тихой бухте ( а в китае пляж это проблема). мы не могли поверить глазам что на нашем не было людей, и можно везде плавать.

− есть разные корпуса с новым ремонтом и со старым. старый тоже не плох, но видно уже потертости от времени

− -Der Empfang war sehr unorgansiert. - ich musste aus privaten Gründen abbrechen und mir wurde ein Tag mehr abgebucht ( hohe Stornogebühr) - Es gibt kein eigenen Strandabschnitt - Der Pool macht um 18h zu - Der zweite Pool sieht nicht sauber aus und die Platten Fliesen sind locker, Unfallgefahr. Grundsätzlich ist das Hotel nicht wir beschrieben. - Schimmel an der Klimaanlage
