A great apartment in the Neumarkt.
8.0The apartment was huge. A large living room with dining area, separate kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and very large reception hall. The full kitchen was reasonably equipped. The bedroom was roomy and bright. The windows had electric exterior sunshades. They equipped the bedroom with a ventilation fan, which was good as the temperature was over 30 deg for the 6 days I stayed there.
− Air conditioning would have been nice. There was a heat wave although the fan did make sleeping tolerable. The apartment was the entire frontage of the building facing the Neumarkt, the traditional center of Dresden. Even though the buildings are all "period" style from the 18th century, they were actually all built in the 1990s and 2000s. The interior of the apartment was very sparse and not well furnished. While Neumarkt is an attractive plaza with the Frauenkirche front and center, it is sterile and largely a tourist area. I did not see any day to day life of the locals there. The effective city center is about 800m away at Postplatz.
