Look for a better Spa
2.0I can only review the Spa. I was not a resident in the lodge. We booked two couples massages at the spa and arrived on time. We were not 15 minutes early as requested because there is poor signage to the lodge and we got lost trying to find it. This should be taken into account. After the massage, we were unexpectedly charged an additional R400 with no prior warning. We were told that requesting firmer pressure during the massage costs an extra R100. This was never explained beforehand. I clearly indicated medium pressure on the intake form, yet was charged for deep pressure anyway. I also asked not to turn over during the massage and simply requested that the remaining time continue on my back. This resulted in another charge for a head, neck, and back massage, despite the session remaining a couples massage in the same room with no change to duration or setup. Nothing additional was provided. We were also charged for bottled water that was supposed to be complimentary. The massage itself was very poor. It felt more like oil being spread on the skin than an actual massage. The therapists did not introduce themselves. The air conditioning was uncomfortably cold throughout the session. The room lighting was harsh with no eye covers provided. The overall atmosphere was not relaxing, and the staff were unfriendly. This was meant to be a relaxing holiday experience and it was not. Between the hidden charges and the poor quality of service, I would not return and would caution other visitors to be very clear about pricing before booking.
Great for a calmer Year end function
10.0Best service, food was great, neat, tidy, beautiful place, we enjoyed a more peaceful year end function.
The perfect place if you eant to relax, eat well, sleep well and experience the wild life
10.0The Grand Kruger Lodge and Spa has it all! Its amazing surroundings is the perfect place for a few days in Kruger. The lodge has it all; good kitchen, fantastic staff, wonderful accommodation, nice pool, a bonfire, animals wondering around and game drives. I can highly recommend the drives to the park obviously and the sunset drives with drinks. We have stayed twice, and I will come back!
stay at grand kruger lodge
10.0everything was perfect, the food delicious, beds comfortables, amazing pool, the staff is lovely. Fully recommended
Memorable, beautiful warm staff that provided great meals.
10.0We had a group of 10 travel to South Africa and this was a WONDERFUL lodge. I could not say enough about the staff. They were warm, welcoming and made sure we had what we needed. Our meals were sooo good and presentation was exceptional. The dining areas were very clean and decorated in great decor. The animals were always roaming through and it was a great place to be. I would only ask to change the lighting in the rooms. During the day you open your curtains for sunlight however in the evening fluorescent lighting is tough. Thank you for providing such a great experience.
The experience of a lifetime!
10.0We stayed as a small group for three nights and the service was superb! We left in the early morning for the safari and they packed us bagged breakfast/ snacks. Meals were prepared daily by the chef which were outstanding in flavor and presentation. I visited the spa on my second day and booked a five star treatment. The attention to detail as well as superb service is commendable. If you want to enjoy proximity to Kruger National Park but experience clamping in lodges and a visual of some of natures animals, this is the place for you! Lighting in the villas could be improved and more outlets for guest & devices. Improved lighting on the paths to the villas would be appreciated .
