A lovely stay for two nights - thank you.

10.0

my wife and I had a really lovely stay for two nights in this lovely, old historical building which, admittedly, has a couple of areas which are in need of a little bit of TLC but we found our room to be very comfortable and the restaurant and bar area clean and cozy. The breakfasts were great in the morning, and all the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. What’s not to like?

Late Mothers Day Lunch

10.0

Had a lovely 'late'' mothers day lunch, due to working yesterday, Food was gorgeous, and hot, served on hot plates, clean and fresh. We ate in the conservatory and the surroundings were very pleasant with plenty of space. We chose off the 2 Meals/Drinks for £30 menu, and it was superb value for money. We then had to indulge in the Cheesecake for desert, no complaints from us. Served by Richard who was very pleasant and a wonderful host.

Clean & comfy stay

8.0

The manor is an old hotel so not modern amenities. I had a double room with a large comfy bed and large bathroom. There is everything you need for a pleasant stay and although slightly smelly with damp and in need of decoration and new carpet. The room is clean and comfortable. The water is hot and tea/coffee supplied so couldn’t wish for more for the price. Staff lovely. Especially Toni on reception went over and above her duties to help Would stay her again.

A very nice mod-week stay.

A very warm and welcoming hotel, where the dinner and breakfast were terrific. We had the fish cakes for dinner with a delicious sauce, and the scrambled eggs and salmon for breakfast on sourdough.

Disappointing and a waste of money

4.0

We were given a table for Sunday lunch in the conservatory which turned out to be next to a children’s Christmas disco which started half an hour or so after we sat down - double doors open by our table. What a noise. Why weren’t we either forewarned or given a table in the bar which would have been quieter. Food poor quality - soup tasted like a pot of pepper had been dropped in it and the mushroom pie tasted disgusting. We were not impressed. Emailed Greene King to complain and told they would investigate and get back to us - needless to say we have heard nothing. This lunch was a waste of money and very disappointing.
