Great place to stay!
10.0Everything!
− Nothing!
It did the job
4.0Convince
− Was not that clean I was charged $10 because one towel had a coffee spill on it
Does the job, comfortably bed, bit run down.
6.0I liked the bed it was comfortable and it was nice to have pillows that were not excessively thick.
− The room didn’t have any power outlets, I had to unplug the alarm clock to get one. Most hotels have USBs in lamps now but yours don’t. The gym isn’t very good.
For the price this is a good deal and you can get to many services and food areas quickly
6.0The location was good and the renovations seem to be working. it is an old hotel and the ground floor rooms are not safe and have huge gaps under the entrance door. Basic room for the price
− Having to use a key versus access card
Don’t waste your money.
2.0My husband and I were driving from Vancouver to the Yukon because my dog had hip surgery. I spent a lot of time picking the stays for this journey, they had to be pet friendly and have air conditioning for the comfort of my animal. Do not be fooled by the photos on this website. They are extremely misleading, the hotel is far more run down than it appears. The hotel is half shut down. The lobby doors are not all used and the restaurant has very limited hours. The location is good. We were able to walk to the grocery store and to a restaurant that was actually open late. When we checked in, I explicitly explained to the clerk that my dog just had his hip replaced and that he’d be on medication in the room. We brought as many of our own blankets in for the animal as we could. I don’t know if all the animal friendly rooms are in the same area but our room was as far back as humanly possible and smelt like stale cigarette smoke. The room was very old, in desperate need of an upgrade and a good clean. There were two beds in the room, when my husband went to put our suitcase on the one bed, the bed fully broke. The frame had clearly been “Half ass-ed” fixed from the last time it broke. The Mickey Mouse 2x4 that was holding it together busted and there was screws and wood splinters everywhere. After, what can only be described as the worse sleep we’ve had in a hotel due to the worst mattress and pillows, we left the following morning. Fast forward to today, checking my credit card statement when I see two additional charges from this hotel. I promptly called the hotel and was informed that due to the dog hair and “stains” on the sheets the charged me extra. Once again, my dog just had hip surgery, he drools from the orange coloured medications and some of it got on the sheets. Furthermore, a stain indicates it does not come out. It will fully wash out of anything. My dog slept on the floor in his own blankets but he’s black and his fur shows up on white sheets. When we checked in we were charged a fee for the dog, pretty standard and to be expected but then to have two more charges show up without any information AND no accountability for the second bed in the room that was unusable and broken, is more than a little infuriating. I would steer clear of this hotel in Fort St. John. Try the Holiday Inn or the Best Western. They are all super close in proximity to each other.
