6.0The Gran Hotel is an historical property. It badly needs updating/remodelling. My 5-night stay was marked by a serious leak in the bathroom, which management wanted to wait to repair. ( One substitute room could not be entered due to a faulty door.)There is clear evidence of management weakness, with many examples of employee turnover. Breakfast is ok , served in the hotel's basement restaurant but without much enthusiasm or smiles...no toaster in this restaurant. Sr Umberto, a bellman, was a bright spot..a nice man with more than 30 years' experience at the Gran Hotel.
