Unsatisfactory, poor value for a very expensive guest house.

The location was in Windermere which is a pleasant town.

− When we arrived at the property , the host was on her way from the garden, she did not introduce herself. The twin room that we were allocated was small with very little space between the beds and the wall, the ' bathroom' was no more than one metre square , this contained a small shower space, tiny basin and a toilet possibly less than a metre away from the the bed. The room was small and very hot, no fan , we later had to ask for a fan . Our garden view was fine, except the hosts used the garden to sunbathe, so we had no privacy from our window, the host said we could pull down the blind, as if that would solve the issue. The host gave us the password for the internet, which came back as incorrect every time, we enquired and the short time we were there the d did not work once. Considering the breakfast was included as £17.50 each ,it was the stingiest breakfast ever in a guesthouse One rasher of bacon, one sausage , one egg, slice of black pudding, tiny portion of baked beans and one slice of bread. My son who has dairy allergy was not given a slice of bread as they claimed it had milk; for £17.50 price for breakfast they could have provided bread he could eat. There was also a tiny portion of fruit with a tablespoon of yoghurt . There was no sign in the small seating area in front of the house overlooking the car, no no smoking sign was displayed , and no ashtrays were provided. The actual garden was clearly not for the use of the guests,rather the hosts and their big dog. We were told that the host will be busy on Friday so no breakfasts will be provided and we will be reimbursed , this has not happened to date. The hosts were not particularly hospitable or friendly, the hostess was marginally better than the host. Considering the really expensive price for the small twin room on the ground floor and the mean breakfast this was very bad value for money. We checked out after first night and found a better accommodation for the rest of our stay.

Lovely home. Really good quality bedding and towels with excellent furniture and fixings. Comfortable bed. Quiet excellent location. Lovely stay.

− Didn’t spoil our stay but room 7 is quite small. Fine for our 2 night stay. Bathroom is also small although had everything we needed. The weather was extremely warm and being a small room could have warranted a fan, however there wasn’t one available when we asked. Hosts were pleasant. Didn’t introduce themselves when we met in the car park and were reciprocal when it was required.

A nice and crispy English House run by a very efficient and lovely couple. Very lovely and freshsly made English B'ast. Very good location to easily move around while walking you are there.

− For a five star rated facility, place and facilities could be little better and especially at this price. Here, it's just your room and morning B'fast. No common place/areas/water station.

We were most happy. The property just give you very safe and comforting feeling. We will surely be back .

It’s the most well maintained and clean property I had ever stay. I would said it’s better than the international 5 stars hotel. Host was most friendly .
