Avoid.
2.0We stayed here as a Jet 2 Holidays package As a half board deal. The food was exceptionally basic and most of the time reheated left overs. We ate out 90% of the time. The staff were always busy, arguing amongst themselves and aggressive to customers - ourselves included in front of my young children. The Jet 2 rep onsite works tirelessly to solve issues with other guests. There is a bpattern of complaints. I am still waiting for an adequate response from Jet 2 holidays how they safeguard families on package holidays in such circumstances. When looking at the reviews , the 4.6 star rating is derived over many years good service when the hotel was under different ownership. It is my knowledge that the family run hotel currently operating the hotel are new in. Serious advice. I would avoid this hotel.
Never again!!!
2.0Very basic hotel definitely wouldn't give it 3 stars on arriving, more a 1 + star rating, staff not helpful or friendly on arrival. Not dropped at reception by transfer and had no clue where the entrance was, as there were no signs. Not disabled friendly, no help with luggage and no kettle in room, asked for a kettle, but was told to wait until house keeper was in next day, but asked again later and was given one by same lady on reception which was only in the room behind, which took all of 2 minutes if that, to get for us. Asked if we could exchange for a ground floor room, but was told no because they don't know who may be coming in. But, we asked the Jet2 rep after 2 nights and was moved immediately. On entering the room, the fridge had a towel inside to soak up water. The same fridge stopped working after 2 days and was replaced with a new one. The room wasn't cleaned on Sunday and was told they don't clean on Sundays, which was a new one on me. Also, no towels were given, although dirty ones were taken out. We complained and was told they only had bath towels but no hand towels. The next day still no hand towels and also only one bed got changed and the other was left un made, the floor wasn't swept and the bathroom wasn't cleaned. On complaining again, the reception said the cleaner is very good, so then we showed her the photos of the dirty taps in the bathroom and mess on the floor, of which she said nothing. We mentioned one bed not being changed, and she said it will be done tomorrow at which I said, give me the sheets and I will do it myself, at which she said we only have one. Also, mattresses, when stripped, were stained.. As for the food, it is very repetitive and basic, and there is no taste, also mostly cold, drinks machines weren't clean, cups and spoons often ran out, so left people waiting. No drinks were offered with evening meals as you had to pay for one, which on ordering we were given watered down pineapple juice at 3 euros, after then we bought ours from the supermarket at only 2 euros a carton and refilled our bottles from our fridge and took them with us to our evening meal. Location and amenities weren't good if you were older or disabled, as you had to cross a main road via an underground tunnel that had steep steps, again not for elderly or disabled. Then a walk to the right and 1st left, which is quite a walk for some people. On the only plus side, the odd staff member was friendly but not many smiley faces, 🤨but again, the cats🐈🐈⬛ were friendly, which may add another star🤣 I must say I will not return or recommend this hotel, I'd rather go camping and I hate camping😬
Would not go back
4.0The hotel is very dated, including the rooms. Our bed was very uncomfortable and it was like sleeping on a brick. The pillows were not great and I ended up with a sore neck each night. We ended up skipping breakfast after 2 days - tinned hotdogs and cheap plastic bacon were among the few options. Dinner was hit and miss. The location was good, not far from the town and beach, and the pool was very nice. They could do with some new sunbeds and parasols though. We were disappointed that the weekend live band was cancelled. We really struggled to find anywhere with good evening entertainment in Stalis unfortunately. Staff at the hotel were friendly but overall we would not go back.
Very sad not happy place
6.0My happy place I used to come to is not the same any more all I can say is Michael you need to come back then I will sorry but shocked to see this place so run down and made to feel uncomfortable at times
Great holiday
8.0My family and I arrived early hours on 22nd September 25. We were given sandwiches and fruit on our arrival which we thought was lovely of them. We stayed for 9 nights. Our rooms were the first on the right opp reception. Yes basic but very clean. There was a kettle in our room with two cups. We found the staff were lovely, our cleaner, reception, bar staff and Katrina the kids club organiser were very friendly. My grandchildren aged 3 and 6 loved it at the kids club. We all found the food lovely, not red hot but a good selection of dishes. To be honest we all agreed that the hotel does need updating, the beds were firm but comfortable, we all enjoyed the food and my grandchildren loved the pools and especially the kids club. For four adults, 2 children and an infant we only payed £1800 for 9 nights half board. To us it was a bargain and that we would go back again. Thank you everyone we had a great time 😃😎
Crete is lovely, the hotel not so good!
4.0Positive first, Staff were lovely without exception! The pool area was kept clean and tidy albeit people ignored the no reservation with towels rule, there were always spare sun beds. Albeit not that comfortable. Room was basic but adequate Less positive; Pestered by semi feral cats at mealtimes, not helped by people feeding them! ( as noted in some reviews) The food was not good, and to add insult to injury it was usually lukewarm, I saw warm chicken from the kitchen being added to chicken that had gone cold, they did the same with Pork. The brochures states it's family owned, that's no longer the case, regular visitors told us it has gone downhill!. I won't be back, to this hotel, there are better more central hotels in Stalis
