Brilliant way to spend our 25th wedding anniversary and we can't wait to make a return visit!
9.0We had a delicious evening meal and drinks whilst sitting outside in the sun. There was a great selection of breakfast items and our cooked breakfasts were generous and very tasty. Our room and the hotel in general was full of old world charm and was lovely and clean. The staff were so friendly and efficient. We quickly decided we'd be back!
− The shower in our room was lacking pressure.
Great location , hotel needs a bit of work done to it
7.0Good location and food is good
− Needs a bit of tlc Run down Shower leaking Floors creaking Cup at breakfast had lipstick on it not mine
Pleasant stay would go back.
7.0Quaint and welcoming
− Sloping floor in bedroom. No hot water initially but rectified immediately. Portions of food in the bar were off putting due to being too big.

6.0Quite close to the train station and castle, breakfast was ok, food in the adjacent pub quite ok too. The ambiance in the entrance area, the pub and the breakfast room was exactly what you would expect from an old Scottish hotel.
− The beds were very uncomfortable and the room felt outdated. There was mold in the bathroom and the shower was impossible to regulate, it shifted between boiling hot and freezing cold every 10 seconds.
Very atmospheric accommodation, would go out for food.
8.0Vintage interior appeal with a lovely and stately dining hall to have breakfast in. People were very friendly and helpful.
− Small/stingy portions breakfast and food at the bar/ restaurant made it feel a bit less grand.
Dogs are welcome, however, dogs must not be left unattended in the bedrooms and they are not allowed in the dining room. Please note a maximum of one dog per room can be accommodated.
