Perfect location and very welcoming

9.0

Perfect tranquil location. Stayed in 2 different suites and both were fabulous, comfortable and definitely would return!

A more extensive evening menu would be a perfect addition, we found it to be too limited to eat there more than once!

Improvements needed in some areas.Overpriced. Lovely building and decor

5.0

It’s a lovely building in a beautiful location. The evening meal in the dining room, whilst expensive, was excellent. We had a nice room with a very comfortable bed.

It was overpriced for what it was. Our bathroom (containing only a small shower, and toilet) was tiny, barely big enough for one person. The shower was weak. At breakfast on the first morning my partner’s porridge was cold; by which I mean not just not hot, or warm. It was completely cold. She told an older lady ( who we assumed was the manager) that it was cold and asked if it could be heated up. The lady took it, commenting as she did so that the bowl was warm. There was no apology. The porridge was returned a few minutes later having been heated up. Again, there was no apology. On the second evening we had had fish and chips out, but the four of us returned to the hotel for drinks. I asked if we could have a cheeseboard to share (we had had the cheeseboard for our desert at dinner the previous evening), and were told by the older lady that there weren’t any cheeseboards available. There were still diners eating in the restaurant. The idea that the hotel had no cheese or biscuits in the kitchen struck us as unlikely to put it mildly.

Lovely hotel, with nice gardens to enjoy the sun and situated in a beautiful area! Stayed for 2 nights in a deluxe king room. Rooms where beautiful, clean, and excellent facilities. Perfect location for Gaping Gill and Malhom cove trails. Took a nice evening stroll around some of the village. Food was really nice, breakfast set me up well for the hike of the day. Staff were above and beyond, very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay again!

My wife and I had never been to this area of the Yorkshire Dales.............in short we were 'blown away'. Austwick is a delightful village and our stay at The Traddock was memorable.
