Comfortable respite from the heat and close to the sights
8.0Well located and fairly easy to get to by taxi (there’s a taxi stand right outside) notwithstanding the narrow streets of Sultanahmet, it’s a short (uphill) walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The hotel is slightly quirky. Breakfast is downstairs with fresh handmade gozleme and a range of bread, cereals and hot options. It’s not a typical western breakfast and can provide some challenges if you’re expecting standard fare. The reception is very friendly with excellent English and very helpful. There is a small elevator. The rooms are a decent size but ageing, but comfortable enough, but with a very old TV. The hotel gives you 2 one litre bottles of water a day which is great and the daily room service is quick and efficient. You are quite close to the Little Sophia mosque so you do get the call to prayer reasonably clearly. The rooftop terrace has some excellent views. We enjoyed our stay here well enough and definitely needed the A/C after extremely hot summer days in Istanbul. If we came back to Sultanahmet we would consider staying again, but there are also other great parts of Istanbul to stay in. All in all we were pretty happy with this option.

Avoid. Not worth the price, not even half of the price
3.0Location was good and staff very helpful and friendly
− Room very dated, paint peels off the ceiling. Wallpaper also tarnished. Flush in the toilet needs daily adjustments to work. All in all - old dirty place. Breakfast poor and basic. Finally half- night of chairs scratching floor on rooftop bar - each movement perfectly resonating in the room - no way to sleep well.

7.0We were below ground level of the Hotel -1?? A terrible spot, the WIFI was non existent I had to go to the roof top to make a call or get WIFI very, very bad.
