4.0We had high hopes for Tambo del Inka but were disappointed. Upon arrival, they couldn’t find our reservation and didn’t tell us—leaving us waiting for 45 minutes. The room was far from the lobby and smelled musty (they did attempt to fix it). The hot tub jets were so strong you couldn’t sit in it comfortably, and others had the same issue. We also weren’t informed that the on-site Farm Table restaurant required advance booking, which was frustrating given we only had one night. While breakfast was great, overall the stay felt poorly communicated and not up to the level we expected from a luxury property. Looking back, we wish we had just stayed another night at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel or gone straight back to the JW Marriott Cusco, which was truly exceptional.
