A Very Nice, Small Beach Hotel
8.0The hotel is small (less than ten rooms) but has a very nice kitchen; we had excellent food every time! The food, view, and charm of the owners are its strongest point. It is on a nearby beach (Las Pocitas), a bit away from the honky-tonk down-town Mancora but not so far that a Mototaxi (4 Soles) cannot have you there in five minutes. The service is better than that of most Mancora establishments, but a bit slow. (The Mancora tourism industry is very new, and many service staff are rural campesinos only learning their roles.) While Mancora's downtown beach is nice and sandy, the beach at the hotel has large rocks protruding in the sand, thus making entrance to the water difficult. We swam at the downtown beach, but the other hotel residents seemed little interested in the beach water, preferring the pool or sunning themselves. Overall, we were delighted at our choice and would choose the Hotelier Arte y Casino if we visited Mancora again.

10.0Warm wonderful staff, the owners are extremely intelligent and experienced in travel, art and gourmet cuisine. With 24 hour security, we never felt our safety was jeapordized. The natural beauty will be in our thoughts forever :)
Good to know
Children under 18 are generally not allowed to stay at properties in Peru without a parent, legal guardian or duly authorized responsible person. Accompanying adults may be asked for both their and the child's ID as well as any duly notarized supporting documentation. Visitors who plan to travel with children should consult with a Peruvian consulate office prior to travel for further guidance.
According to Peruvian law, cash is not accepted for payments over PEN 2,000 or USD 500. Payments greater than these amounts must be settled by credit card or other methods approved by the property and local law. Payments cannot be split between currencies.
