Enjoyable and comfortable
10.0We spent an enjoyable and comfortable nights stay at the Station Hotel. The bedroom was spacious and clean and we had a good nights sleep in the large four poster bed. In the morning we were served an excellent full English breakfast.

4.0Hard to understand the many good reviews this has hotel. The photographs and reviews give the impression that it is old but very clean and well appointed but for the price we were very disappointed. I can see how people can describe it as comfortable but it feels old, tired and stale and would need a huge refurbishment and refresh to match the expectations set by the pictures, reviews and price. It is more of a comfortable, budget hotel. In the end we didn't even stay after checking in, as the friends we were visiting ended up having a spare room available in their holiday rental. The lady who greeted us was very polite and helpful.

8.0Traditional old hotel with great space and character. Decor in need of an upgrade but has a friendly, homely feel. Perfect location for the town centre. Reception staff really friendly!

10.0The hotel has a really welcoming and friendly feel. The staff had good local knowledge and the room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We would happily return for a further stay.

10.0Very good small hotel, beats the 'chain' hotels hands down. Breakfast was top class Staff were very polite and helpfull, recommended me to an excellent restaurant nearby for my evening meal.
