− The room was not worth the money, the service was slow, 4 reception desks but only one staffed, so long queues. Breakfast - oversized portions of low grade food.
Beautiful hotel, but be careful where your room is...
7.0Hotel is wonderful. Door staff friendly, check-in staff very good at their job, the décor and history is A.MAZING. Location was spot on for us next to Kings Cross. The suite we were in made you feel like you were in Bridgeton, kept expecting a maid to knock and ask if I needed anything. It is a stunning place and hard to believe that it was scheduled for demolition in 1967. It has been restored to it's full glory.
− We had originally booked a loft room but on check in we upgraded to a suite - which cost 1.5 times the cost of the loft room even with a £700 discount. We thought we'd be spontaneous and splash out... However, although the suite was stunning - as is the whole hotel itself - our suite 176/178 was DIRECTLY above the tracks in St Pancras station. Every. SINGLE. train that arrived and departed shook the rooms. Had earplugs in but still heard and felt every single train... The trains did stop at some point after midnight, starting again in the morning but if I'd have known where the suite was I'd have stuck to my lowly but quiet loft room on the 3rd floor...which was 1/3 of the cost...and I'd have managed a better quantity of sleep.
