− Room diabolically hot ......No A/C the fan provided was useless....had to sleep in a wet towel! Food wasn't up to usual standard.....waiter had sweat marks .... As the rooms are single sided and there is a long corridor with multiple fire doors there is no movement of air . No want you want after 8hrs in a classic car .

I feel that the person who gave the Hotel 4**** was, perhaps, being a little generous.
7.0The room was clean, although a little small, and the bed large and comfortable The Dinner was good and the dining room staff efficient. The breakfast was good, but the scrambled eggs - having been brought in from outside caterers - was best left in the dish.
− I was saddened that having, over the years, stayed there about ten times, there was no recognition of loyalty or friendliness rather the guests seemed to be treated rather like airport passengers going through the system.

9.0Characterful hotel. Check out its history, very interesting! We arrived just after 9pm only to be told that dinner was finished, but the hotel arranged a fantastic charcuterie board - better than dinner! Hotel is old, and could do with some work, but it proved that even when hotels need a little bit of investment, they can still delivery quality. Lovely grounds, plenty of parking, quiet and secluded. Recommend you stay here and have a 15 minute drive to the port/tunnel rather than hotels right next to the port/tunnel. Staff were very nice and friendly. We will definitely be back.
