Not really 4* but would be decent enough as a 3*

Check in bland. Not overly welcoming or showing any interest. No info about the area then or in the room. First room was very small and basic. (B room) Hairgrip on bathroom floor (not mine). Small bath tub with overhead shower. 1 bar of face soap and one bar of massage soap ...no shower gel. Don't like sharing a bar of soap with my husband let alone if it was a friend! No shower cap. Very small kitchen area. Coffee maker which actually made 2 cups at once-hallelujah. Our room did not lock properly. A hard push and it opened. Housekeeping lady then advised us we could go out for the day as she had told maintenence- big problem- NO inroom safe and NO secure door. Went to reception and asked to move rooms but told we had to wait to see how long maintenence would be. Then we're told maintenence would be there straight away (efficient). Went back to the room and met man from maintenence who said everything was fine and the foor entry had worked with his key! Obviously a misunderstanding and he came with us to the room and we showed him the issue- turned out the metal plate was missing from the door jamb!!! Maintenence supervisor was so apologetic. Back to reception and asked again if we coukd move rooms as it wasnt going to be a quick fix, there was no in-room safe and we wanted to go out. Poor attitude, mo apology for the issue or the delay bit had caused us being able to go out. Eventually got offered ground floor pet room or suite at extra cost p.n. Asked if there was a higher room-there was a suite (A room) on 3rd floor. We had to pay 50CAD pn + taxes. I didn't feel we should have had to pay as security issue was not our fault and I could not accept an animal room. Anyway, large kitchen area with huge fridge/feezer, microwave, range cooker. 1 ensuite (still mo shower gel or shower caps) and 1 separate toilet. Large sitting area. Utility room with washing machine and dryer. In room safe. Well worth the extra money. No room service during our 3 night stay (apparently should have been daily) Restaurant food was good in the evening (never tried any other time) and reasonable. Service very friendly. Swimming pool clean. Not enough sunloungers when we were there but it was very hot and very busy. Pool bar serving drinks and snacks. Pool towels provided and could be changed as needed. Situation of hotel is a bit out of Invermere- about 40min walk through an industrial estate. About 5 mins in the car. Plenty of free parking though in the town centre. On balance it was an OK hotel let down by staff attitude (restaurant staff not included) . Location may be an issue for some. Rooms ending with A are great, ending with B are much less so. A spa and coffee shop are coming soon which will be a good addition. Missing many touches that would be expected as standard in a 4*

Lovely property

− Staff weren’t too attentive and despite an incident in the dining room that couldn’t be avoided, they did not check in to apologise or to see if everything was okay. Our breakfast took 1 hour from ordering to being served, really disappointing

Pool and location

− The pool is always a plus, but no umbrellas during our stay until the last day, a little bit of an inconvenience! Ice at the front desk and not available on each floor is a little different; shouldn't have to walk 10,000 steps to get ICE Beds are way too small in the standard rooms, and the TVS were horrible - UPGRADE
