− Swimming pool was lovely
Enjoyable stay for a local wedding. Great food, lovely building and gardens (no aircon)
7.0Breakfast and also dinner on the patio was superb. Really good food and efficient service. Indoor Swimming Pool was very useful in the heat of the day. Very pretty buildings and well kept gardens!
− On a day were temperatures were over 30c we were surprised to find the room radiators were fully turned up to hot and the blinds were left open so the sun had baked the bedsheets. Fans were lightweight so it was a good job we bought our own. Reception staff were a bit dour possibly because of the hot conditions but kitchen staff were great and very very pleased when we sourced a few large bags of ice for them !
Nice location but overpriced and not value for money.
3.0Location and setting was nice. The bar was nice. Lounge area not too bad either. The room itself the bed was comfy but the bathroom was grotty. Skirting board paint peeling off. Needed some TLC. Lady on reception, (Romanian girl) as very friendly. Shame the owner wasn't!
− No air con in room. Paying extra £3 for a latte when I paid £18 for breakfast. Pool was shut due to too much chemicals added and owner said not her problem. Unwilling to offer even the smallest of discount. Annoying since that was the reason for booking this venue. Gym wasn't bad but hadn't been cleaned and the water tank was empty. Overall for the price point of a twin room at nearly £300 for 1 night then having to pay a further £36 for breakfast and £6 for 2 coffee's frankly is a well over priced hotel compared to other venues closer to London at much higher standard. I would encourage the owner to visit other hotels of similar price and adjust accordingly. Overall just felt it needed some better servicing and a serious review of it's pricing model. Would I recommend this hotel - I think the answer is obvious.
