Wonderful inn with modern comfortable room and nice touches including quality breakfast items, coffee, etc. Very friendly proprietor had great recommendations and time to chat.

Beechwood House is in a great location for Carbis Bay beach and on the bus route for St Ives and Penzance. Very clean and comfortable with lovely helpful hosts. I would definitely stay again.

Few days at Beechwood House

I’ve just returned from a lovely few days spent at Beechwood House. I stayed in the single room which was comfortable and had a sea view. The Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Good WiFi in the room. Very convenient for Carbis Bay beach and buses into St Ives and Penzance. I would definitely stay again.

Customer/traveller friendly, nice, beautiful view, helpfull community, calm

1) (August 2025) The place was nice, customer/traveller friendly, helpfull, with convinient localisation – close beach and bus stops, not so far from Carbis Station (however for people without own transport, my suggestion would be to come with the bus e.g. from Penzance; with the train only for the fantastic views on the train road to St. Ives and from St.Ives take the bus). 2) There was nice view form the big window (on the top floor) with relaxing glimpse of the sea. According to me (us), the room was not big, but it was cozy, tidy, not claustrofobic and it was comfortable enough for 2 people, there was enough place for storage, the available space was planned very well. The bed was big enough and comfortable (also for sb 1,72 m height). You could also seat next to the window behind a small table. There was also TV (had no time to watch it), hair drayer. The mirror was too low. 3) There was enough soap in the bathroom, as well as some cosmetic pads, enough toilet paper (sorry noting this, but some places have problems with this issue). I have never got such white towels in any hotel as in this place. 4) I knew it before that the real breakfest was not included, however there is a small fridge in the room, including some snacks, and e.g. water, juice, milk, joghurt. So together with the available musli, some tea pads (and so on), water cooker, you are able to prepare sth, together with your own food (no problem to obtain extra plates and cutlery in the room if you ask). (But still, I really missed famous English breakfasts in the morning :-).) Almost next to the house there was a small grocery shop and some restarants; much further bigger shop - Tesco. 5) The house is located next to the street, however for the night purpose you can draw the quite heavy curtains and the sporadic low noise (with open window) is not disturbing. 6) The community, people from the surrounding, from the city were very helpfull and nice. I would definitly come back there.
